COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
keg and bottled, series special
Hello My Name Is Vladimir is our tongue-in-cheek, limonnik berry infused double IPA. It is the latest in our Hello My Name Is... series, but rather than continue our Scandinavian journey, we’ve travelled east to Russia, to poke fun at uber-hetero Vladimir Putin.
This beer is our first foray into controversy with a cause greater than our own. An ironic beer, but one backed up with some serious flavours.
On the nose there’s a huge explosion of audacious liberally- minded US hops, against a robust yet elegant malt backdrop.
Flavours of malt sweetness and a touch of acidic berry sharpness combine and give way to an avalanche of lightly toasted, fruity blueberry muffin malitiness, followed by a rush of piney resinous US hops to the sides of palate.
The piece de resistance; a mind-bogglingly bitter, yet tongue- twisting tart finish, with both flavour profiles fighting it out to see who will last the longest. The result; a finish as long as a cross-country topless ski journey through Siberia.
*50% of the profits raised through this beer will go directly to charities that represent oppressed minorities around the world.

It pours a clean golden color with a large cream-colored head white head. Aroma is sweet and malty, warming with notes of toffee, juicy tropical fruits, grapefruit juice, orange peel. Taste is quite sweet upfront with toffee, caramel malts, juicy bittering hops with notes of orange peel, pine cones, red berries, grains. Medium bodied with sticky mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Ok DIPA

Love the aroma, kind of like any other BrewDog’s IPA. Nice copper colour and thick foam. Soft palate, everything is in its place. The 8,2% is felt at the beginning, after that it is quite moderate. I thought it would be more intense because of it’s name and IBU. Expected more bitterness, that in turn makes the body and aftertaste weaker, which isn’t bad but waited just a little bit more. The berry flavor comes at the very end, when you breath in. Overall very pleasant and nicely done beer.

Shared by martjoobolut, thanks! Copper beer, tan head. Nose is hoppy, fruity, citric, caramel notes with malty sweetness. Flavor is pretty malty, caramel, smooth citrus notes, boozy-hoppy finish. Long finish. Decent DIPA, fair balance.

Transferring some earlier reviews from my blog to RB. Aprill 2014, Utobeer, London (£ 4,50), 33 cl. Joogi ime-ingredient on niisiis limonnik ehk hiina sidrunväändik (Schisandra chinensis), mille kohta kirjutatakse delfis: "Hommikumaises rahvameditsiinis on kasutusel kõik taime osad, kuid kõige populaarsemad on taime viljad.

- igatahes mingi rabamari).

At a tasting, thanks Gunnar, small bubbly head, a little hazydeepish orange colour, aroma of orange marmalade and strawberry jam, with brown bread and hints of hay, flavour of bread and orange marmalade, with some spiciness in the back, quite strong bitterness, unidentifiable fruity aftertaste, maybe the berries. Fair but a bit old.
