COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Christmas, wish for a green Christmas. Where flurries of hop flakes blanket the world like you’ve never seen it before. And crunching through crisp, sparkling drifts releases billows of pineapple, citrus and papaya with every step. The reign of the snow angel is over. Long live the hop angel where parks and playgrounds become adorned with the outlines of celestial beings that fell to Earth from angry looking emerald clouds. Tune in to breakfast TV to find life’s on hold for 24 hours as this ’hop day’ demands you rocket down a hill on the back of a baking tray. Or simply raise a glass of this festive IPA as we wish you a very hoppy Christmas.

33cl bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais. Clear orangey colour with lasting white head. Hoppy grapefruity aroma which is attractive. fairly tasty in mouth. Some tangerine, mostly grapefruit flavours. Some good bitterness on finish. I think it’s pretty good to be honest. Tasty IPA. I liked it.

Bottle (330ml):
Hoppy, some strong grapefruit and pine hops. Some sweet malts and some lighter spices also make an appearance. There is also some floral notes and some herbal ones on top of that.
Orange amber colour with a foamy, white head about two centimetre tall that stays very well and doesn’t reduce much over the first couple of minutes.
A strong grapefruit taste at the start with, as expected, tonnes of hops following this. There is a few spices and a juicy, almost topical fruit flavour up next with some orange and maybe some mango.
Medium, a sweet and almost rich feel with some good spices and lively carbonation without being overdone.

A pretty good Christmas beer, another solid effort from Brewdog following on from their Christmas Porter from last year and a welcome change from the usual darker Christmas beers that are more common. I could see myself enjoying this one year round if it was available permanently so hopefully it appears again next year as well.

Golden orange, small white head, thin retention. Nose is fruity, hoppy, with pine resin, peaches, mango. Taste is malts, some soft, creamy sweetness with caramel, hoppy bitterness comes in in the middle of the taste. Bitter hoppy, fruity, somewhat dry finish. Medium body, oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice.

On tap at Brewdog Shoreditch. It pours dark golden with white head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, light caramel, some tropical fruitiness, citrus - piney hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, some caramel and light tropical fruitiness, some citrus - piney hoppyness. Good one.

330ml bottle. Can’t say clear, but clearish golden color. Tiny head, stays. Good lacing. Grapefruit, fresh grass, hops in aroma. Sweet, hops, grapefruit, alcohol in flavor. Beer trying to be something, but it is not what it tries to be.

A good exercise in extra-hopping, but nothing new under the sun and for a Christmas brew apart from the kick of bitterness it retains very little complexity.

Amber color with creamy white head. Intense citrus and fresh floral aroma, also caramel malt. At taste is bitter but a little and so drinkable and balanced.

Fresh fruity hoppy aroma with some reshly cut grass. The hop aroma is held back in the taste, hop resin finish with a fairly thick body.
