This Christmas, wish for a green Christmas. Where flurries of hop flakes blanket the world like you’ve never seen it before. And crunching through crisp, sparkling drifts releases billows of pineapple, citrus and papaya with every step. The reign of the snow angel is over. Long live the hop angel where parks and playgrounds become adorned with the outlines of celestial beings that fell to Earth from angry looking emerald clouds. Tune in to breakfast TV to find life’s on hold for 24 hours as this ’hop day’ demands you rocket down a hill on the back of a baking tray. Or simply raise a glass of this festive IPA as we wish you a very hoppy Christmas.

330ml bottle. Not a Christmas beer in the traditional sense, no spices or cinnamon added, but a strong IPA. Big tropical fruit & citrus in both the powerful aroma and the taste. Bitter finish. One of the best US style IPAs I’ve tried.

Bottle at Beerville pub in Belgrade-Serbia. Pours clear golden orange color, bright with little foam. Nose: pineapple blast, orange, some Yasmine. Nice. Mouth: Brewdog signature, dry and fresh, again pineapple, just a bit of amber. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The beer looks delicious. The color of the IPA is a beautiful amber, with a reddish tint. The beer pours a thick layer of very rough white foam. The foam collapses within seconds and almost no foam is left to cover the beer, The beer has a delicious typical IPA smell. The smell is filled with delicious hop aroma’s. I smell delicious sour citrus fruits, papaya, maybe some pasion fruits. The smell is in perfect balance, the sourness of the citrus, the sweetness of the papaya and passionfruit and the overall bitterness of the hops. I really love the citrusy and floral hops. The taste is also very nice and totally the same as the smell. There is a hint of citrus, some papaya and pineapple and some floral and citrusy hop tones The sweet papaya and pineapple are stronger in the taste. The beer has a nice amount of gas in it. All in all, a delicious beer, perfect to drink after the heavy christmas dinner.

33cl bottle from our lovely monopoly (Alko). Copper to orange colour with a pretty small frothy off-white to white head. Nose has moderate malts, some caramel, fresh hops, pine needles and citrus fruits. Palate is medium sweet and bitter with a long duration. Flavors of mandarin, orange, pine. Medium bodied and soft carb. Okay, but nothing special.

33cl bottle at home from Biernavigatie.nl. Body is clear orange golden, head is small, off-white, mostly diminishing, good lacing. Nose is citric, caramelish, flavor is grapefruit, caramel, spices, dried fruits, wood, recycled paper, malt. Light sweet, medium bitter, medium umami. Finish is medium lasting hoppy medium bitter-umami. Medium body, dry texture, average carbonation. Quite easy, quite interesting.

Certainly no hop monster but still decent orangey citrus and pineapple notes on the nose and tongue. A subtle spicy finish as well. Decent malt backbone and hop bitterness. Medium bodied. ABV well disguised. Dark amber pour, white head. (330ml bottle from DMs with BB 13/8/16).

Orange depth of colour with low carbonation. Astringent ABV and hops come through. Warmth from the alcohol. A good IPA.

Keg at BD Edinburgh. Pours dark gold with a thin head. Moderate to high carbonation. Not much aroma (hint of pine). Mouthfeel more like a later than full IPA. Nicely bitter, clean finish. Hints of resin, pine, not much citrus. And definitely not much Xmas! Would work well as a hopped up lager more than a seasonal IPA. Still good, but not a "go to".

Aroma of fresh hops, citrus, malt and notes of herbs. Pale, clear, not much head. Light-medium sweetness, high bitterness. Average carbonation, medium-full body. Not really a regular Christmas beer!

Denne Hoppy Christmas har et klart gyldent udseende med et svagt hvidt skum. Øllen har en citrus aroma og smager friskt af citrus og har en bitterhed. En meget frisk juleøl. Medium karbonering.
