Bottled, seasonal
single hop simcoe IPA
This Christmas, wish for a green Christmas. Where flurries of hop flakes blanket the world like you’ve never seen it before. And crunching through crisp, sparkling drifts releases billows of pineapple, citrus and papaya with every step. The reign of the snow angel is over. Long live the hop angel where parks and playgrounds become adorned with the outlines of celestial beings that fell to Earth from angry looking emerald clouds. Tune in to breakfast TV to find life’s on hold for 24 hours as this ’hop day’ demands you rocket down a hill on the back of a baking tray. Or simply raise a glass of this festive IPA as we wish you a very hoppy Christmas.

Draught at Man in The Moon, Stockholm. <i/> Cloudy smber, small head. Grapefruity nose with notes of rubber. Sweetish with clean, spritzy mouthfeel. Gooseberry and tangerine comes out once excessive carbonation is swerled away. Mid bitter finish.

On tap at Man in the Moon, January 2014. Labeled as Voodoo Doll. Amber/golden with a white head. Nothing special with this one. Grapefruit, malt, pine and toffee. Also notes of earth. The finish was bitter.

Although he hops are not that obvious is aroma, there is some citrus, but not a lot. The taste is quit nice, some balanced malty caramel with some bitterness. Not too aggressive, but quite ok.

Happy Christmas to you too. A lovely IPA. Citrusy and bitter. A strong malt in background that takes the edge off it. Not sure what makes a Christmas beer but it’s strong enough so my throat’s glowing like Rudolph’s nose.

Delicious ipa. The aroma is a little bit underwhelming, but the taste makes up for this. It has tropical fruits, but also warmth in the aftertaste, medium bitter and overall outspoken and well balanced ---Rated via Beer Buddy (iOs)

Bitter met een zoetje. Wel wat te warm. Te dun schuim. Bij Arjan smaakte die beter, wat kouder denk.

Bottle. Pours copper with average head. Citric aromas with noticeable hints of mango. Well-carbonated medium, semi-sweet body. Very fruity bitterness, hoppy. Very drinkable.

Bottle. Drank this a bit too late I guess.... Pours a slightly clouded, orange beer with a small white head on top. Has some floaties goofing around in the glass. No worries. Aroma is crisp, fresh. Light citric, touch of vanilla in the background and a nice malty backbone. Flavor is medium bitter, well balanced and good amount of maltiness to back up the hops. Hop presence has certainly not faded over time here, still very present. Medium long, light bitter aftertaste. Good level of carbonation going, juicy mouthfeel. Quite a very nice IPA. Merry Christmas..
