This Christmas, wish for a green Christmas. Where flurries of hop flakes blanket the world like you’ve never seen it before. And crunching through crisp, sparkling drifts releases billows of pineapple, citrus and papaya with every step. The reign of the snow angel is over. Long live the hop angel where parks and playgrounds become adorned with the outlines of celestial beings that fell to Earth from angry looking emerald clouds. Tune in to breakfast TV to find life’s on hold for 24 hours as this ’hop day’ demands you rocket down a hill on the back of a baking tray. Or simply raise a glass of this festive IPA as we wish you a very hoppy Christmas.

33 cl bottle. Dark orange, thin off-white to tan head. Hop aromas are hitting me while pouring. When Brew Dog say hoppy, they mean HOPPY. Plenty of Simcoe hop flavour, a bit too much for my likings. Taste is dry and citrusy, as expected, plus pineapple. A bit sourness as well.

Tap at Fairbar. Clear, dark amber body. Very hoppy aroma with some malty caramel. Medium sweet taste with medium bitterness. Hoppy flavours. Medium body with average carbonation. Very good IPA, but not much of a Christmas beer.

Draft. A hazy amber beer with a huge yellowish head: The aroma has notes of citrus fruits, hops, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, citrus fruits, malt, and a bit of caramel, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle - Clear deep golden colour, medium white head, good retention. Nice tropical fruit aromas with pine, biscuit, caramel. Taste is quite sweet, the come the decent hoppy bitterness. Caramel, pine, grapefruit and pineapple notes. Medium to full body, average carbonation, smooth mouthfeel, long hoppy finish. I dont know why is it called a christmas beer, but i like it better than most of the christmas beers.

Unclear, solid head. Aroma is mainly malts - caramel, toffee, honey. Barley wine direction. Not much of american hops aroma (some pine), maybe because my bottle is quite old. Medium to full body, medium sweetness, lightly sour. Sweet, but not too sweet. Some alcohol in finish
