COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Christmas, wish for a green Christmas. Where flurries of hop flakes blanket the world like you’ve never seen it before. And crunching through crisp, sparkling drifts releases billows of pineapple, citrus and papaya with every step. The reign of the snow angel is over. Long live the hop angel where parks and playgrounds become adorned with the outlines of celestial beings that fell to Earth from angry looking emerald clouds. Tune in to breakfast TV to find life’s on hold for 24 hours as this ’hop day’ demands you rocket down a hill on the back of a baking tray. Or simply raise a glass of this festive IPA as we wish you a very hoppy Christmas.

Bottled (batch 320), from Alko Prisma, Vaasa. Amber colour, mediumsized white foamy head that leaves quite a lot of lace. Aroma is rather big time hoppyness (citrus, fruity, floral, grassy and mild acidicness as well) with some slight not too sweet maltyness. Flavour is big time grassy, floral and mildly fruity hops along with some nice maltyness as well. Pleasant sweetish hoppy and malty finish and aftertaste. Rather balanced. An IPA I rather much I like, to my own surprise!

2012-12-03, bottle from La Cave à Bulles, Paris, batch 319 bb 11-10-13,
Beautiful golden/amber color, clean, with medium sized creamy head. Wonderful hoppy aroma, fresh and pungent, fruity, and light manure in the end. The mouthfeel is lean and rather dry, a good canvas for the nice toffee flavor, and without the crystal-like notes found on draught; strong bitterness, providing mostly resins, but also light orangey fruitiness. Long final.
Excellent.

2012-11-28, draught at La Fine Mousse, Paris, 9-5-7-3-15=39
Beautiful copper-amber color with compact head. Fantastic hoppy aroma, with plenty of fresh fruits, then some pungent character, passion fruit, light manure character. Medium body strength; malt flavor, but also crystal malt, therefore a bit cloying; very moderate sweetness; quite strong bitterness, the hops is fruity; but overall not cohesive.
Confused hop bomb.

33cl bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais. Clear orangey colour with lasting white head. Hoppy grapefruity aroma which is attractive. fairly tasty in mouth. Some tangerine, mostly grapefruit flavours. Some good bitterness on finish. I think it’s pretty good to be honest. Tasty IPA. I liked it.

330ml bottle (Alko Arkadia, Helsinki) Fairly simple sweet exotic fruity hop aroma, some sticky crystal malt mashiness. Smooth palate, pleasant carbonation. Slightly floury malts, a little sweeter than I’d like, but that does help keep the alcohol in check. Spicy mandarin and orange peel spiciness. Some stale pepperiness in the finish. Arrives quickly , and leaves quite quickly too. Not an unpleasant encounter, but they really need to leave the floury mashiness behind, probably crystal malts.
