3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl bottle (6.8%) from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours almost clear golden with a small, white head. Fruity and hoppy aroma with peach, mandarine, passion fruit with moderate malty notes and hints of pine and caramel. Moderate to medium sweet with lovely fruity flavours and a balanced bitterness. Medium body with quite average carbonation. Quite fresh, fruity, and dangerously drinkable. Nice IPA!

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 33 cl, batch #320, BBE 11.10.2013. Amber in color, creamy off-white head. Citrus, some grapefruit and biscuit in aroma with pine and fresh wood as well. Nice so far. Brewdog india palealesque-like taste, pine, mild grassy hops at first, ending is more bitter though. Smooth it feels, albeit slightly onesided somehow. Sweet wild strawberries in aftertaste.

Bottled. Pours clear and deep golden with a medium sized, lacing off-white head. Aroma of citrus, lemon zest, notes and caramel. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and decent bitter. Medium bodied, oily text. and soft carb. A nice IPA though not very christmas like despite the label.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Orange body, white head. Aroma has all the exotic fruits and apricot. Flavour has some maltiness, turns bit floury at the end.
Earlier Rating: 11/14/2012 Total Score: 3.5
Amber body, white medium sized head. Aroma has lots of fruits and really slick caramelly tone. Quite oily and fruity flavour. The caramel makes this a bit flat. Tropical. Doesn’t stand out in any way.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from brewdog webshop, february 16th 2013. Hazy orange body, small white head. Hoppy aroma, lots of citrus and exotic fruits, with malt and some spices, quite nice. Taste of grapefruit and peach, with caramel and cloves. High drinkability, would have guessed a lower abv. Clean bitterness, aftertaste of exotic fruits and pepper. A more hoppy than most christmas beers, still having that little christmas spicy twist. Somehow I think it works.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Appalachian Wines, Edinburgh 181112
Dark golden amber, clear, frothy off white head that dissipates to a thin rim
Aroma - Grassy hops, some citrus zest, soft golden caramel malt background
Taste - Grassy zesty hops, more zest than grass, citrus, orange resinous hops, caramel malts, touch of honey malts, fairly malty IPA with bitter citrus and grassy hops, alcohol fairly noticeable
Palate - Medium carb and body, oily texture, smooth. Finish - bitter zest, grassy hops, clean finish with a touch of alcohol
Overall - A decent IPA, the sweet malt background tempers some of the grassy zest bitterness from the hops. No idea why it’s called a Christmas beer.
