Again, huge thanks Jablanko/Filip :p. Batch 389. Poured a dark amber body with a creamy white head. The aroma is quite pungent, somewhere between grapefruit and tropical fruit, but not as fresh as I’d liked. Creamy though, if slightly ashy and with a distinct presence of alcohol. The taste is disappointing. Empty, herbal/grapefruity aroma, some pleasant citric notes, on a slightly candyish malty body. Put it feels like there’s a hole in the middle of everything. Ends somewhat dry again, sweetish and grapefruity. A letdown.

Draught @ OlutExpo 2013
Pours clear yellow with a foamy white head. Aroma of stingy fruity hops, citrus, crisp maltiness and lemon. Taste is stingy fruity with hints of crisp maltiness and lemon. Finish is stingy and fruity with hints of crisp maltiness. Okay, but quite untypical for a single hop Simcoe IPA.

Keg at Brewdog Camden. Amber / dark orange with a thin off white head. Exoctic fruit aromas, little bit of sweetness as well. Hop bitterness is biting, but mellows a lot when it warms up slightly. Malt and hop are well balanced. Medium body and slightly chewy / resinous.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clean amber bodied and stable head. Very piney which I’m sure was the idea behind a hoppy Christmas. Not woody or spicy, as typical Christmas beers, but a clean hop based beer that’s rather refreshing than warming. Body is light bitter for the style and a bit too clean to be interesting. And a Christ’s beer can be eccentric and over the top. This isn’t. This is a clean ipa that drinks nice enough but reminds me nothing of a special, warming, wintery or eclectic Christmas spirit. More of an after work thirst quencher. (33cl bottle from Bootlegger)

Pours clear blonde, touch of amber , rather small white head
Smell is very intense hops , pine, typical brewdog .
Taste is nice hops, some pine again . slightly malt notes . Very good, as usually when you drink a brewdog IIPA / IPA , but they have so many , that I start to fail to taste big differences in between them.. Very good though , just nothing to go out of your way off, when you can get Hardcore so much more easy .
