COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled, seasonal
single hop simcoe IPA
This Christmas, wish for a green Christmas. Where flurries of hop flakes blanket the world like you’ve never seen it before. And crunching through crisp, sparkling drifts releases billows of pineapple, citrus and papaya with every step. The reign of the snow angel is over. Long live the hop angel where parks and playgrounds become adorned with the outlines of celestial beings that fell to Earth from angry looking emerald clouds. Tune in to breakfast TV to find life’s on hold for 24 hours as this ’hop day’ demands you rocket down a hill on the back of a baking tray. Or simply raise a glass of this festive IPA as we wish you a very hoppy Christmas.

Bottle. Small fizzy head. Clear yellow color. Aroma of peach, passion fruit, citrus, mango, mellon. Over the palate came passion fruit, mango, fruit, citrus. Light body, dry texture, average carbonation. Light bitter and sweet. Light lingering mango and citrus finish.

Bottle from beer central, sheffield. Pale amber with small white head. Aroma is earthy and woody with hops, with definite lychee. Taste is mildly bitter. Prickly with a medium body. Decent.

Bouteille 33cl, batch# 264, BB 04/06/2015.

Bottle @ home. Pours a clear deep golden with a tiny head. The nose is rather pleasant with lots of tropical and stone fruit. The flavour starts out with some sweet bready malt, followed by peach, pear and apricot, and finishes with moderate to strong, lingering, sticky hops. Has a fullish body and medium carbonation.

330 ml bottle, as BrewDog Voodoo Doll autumn release, from Vinmonopolet. Batch #196. ABV is 6.8%. BB date 20.08.2014. Orange colour, large head, slightly off-white. Aroma of fruity and piney Simcoe hops. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour is medium dry, and dominated by piney and moderately fruity Simcoe hops.

Light golden colour with little to no carbonation, medium white head - rapidly receeding. Beautiful flowery hop aroma, the hops smell ultra fresh - slightly grassy. The hoppy aroma translates directly to taste, almost note for note. Grass and pine dominate. Density is a little light on, and lack of carbonation let’s it down a little.

Bière qui ressemble à une IPA, goût de houblon qui reste bien en arrière goût. Le houblon n’est pas trop fort, juste la bonne amertume.

A rather gentle IPA which can be enjoyed in large quantities. Hoppy but not too bitter either. With a hint of Apple.

Comfortably the best of a brace of Brewdog Christmas specials sampled on the day 2014. Absurdly drinkable for the strength, so it’s perhaps a blessing that I had but one in the fridge. Burnt orange colour with a colossal head. Huge, fresh fruit salad aroma. Juicy Fruit chewing gum, passionfruit, mango. Luscious Simcoe happiness. Full bodied. On the tongue, kiwi fruit, passionfruit, mango again. Good malt base. A stonking pale ale. Christmas Day 2014. 330 ml bottle from Leura Cellars.

Bottle from Trembling Madness, York. Golden coloured with orange marmalade and citrus flavours followed by fruit and pine on the finish. Excellent, but not a Christmas ale.
