Oblivious to accountant’s interfering and conventional corporate wisdom we do not cut corners like other Lager producers and use malt substitutes like corn and rice to keep our costs down. Our Lager has 100% malt base providing an fresh, sharp initial sweetness and a body and flavour, which endures where others prematurely disappear into a watery bland grave. A combination of the finest German and New Zealand hops add subtle tropical fruit notes and add complexity and depth to this most statuesque of Lagers.

Bottle from the brewery. A super-hopped lager, but this does not reach the level of their ales. It has some nice flowery hops, but it is not balanced enough, ending up too perfumed. Look to the German Jever Pilsener for inspiration for a well hopped lager.

Nice Lager. Bottled from website order. Moderately bitter, clean, fresh, a little bready. A little over carbonated. OK

Bottle, at London Shindig, August 2007. Much of the attention on BrewDog beers is focused on the Paradox, but this is a quite revolutionary beer in its own way (for the UK). A big hoppy lager. Not many of those around in these parts. Pale gold, with a thin white head. Mix of bready malt and grassy hop on the nose. The grassy, spicy hops come through much more strongly in the flavour. Decent, firm mouthfeel. A tasty lager - a rare beast in the UK.

Bottled at Bon Accord, Glasgow. Golden colour, rich head. Grapefruity aroma. Medium sweet, fruity and hoppy. Medium bodied with slick, lighlty buttery malt. Rather bitter finish. Typical modern style hoppy lager, and a good one at that.

Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft.
