COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled;
Oblivious to accountant’s interfering and conventional corporate wisdom we do not cut corners like other Lager producers and use malt substitutes like corn and rice to keep our costs down. Our Lager has 100% malt base providing an fresh, sharp initial sweetness and a body and flavour, which endures where others prematurely disappear into a watery bland grave. A combination of the finest German and New Zealand hops add subtle tropical fruit notes and add complexity and depth to this most statuesque of Lagers.

Nice Lager. Bottled from website order. Moderately bitter, clean, fresh, a little bready. A little over carbonated. OK

BlackHaddock (3797) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2012
Brown 330ml bottle, best before 10-10-2009, drank on the last day of May 2009. Poured into a Corsendonk stemmed tulip shaped glass. Very slight haze to the beer, otherwise it was an old gold, mid-range lager colour. A white collar and wispy covering sat on top with some lacing as the beer was consummed. Good hop aroma, some mixed fruit in there too (apples and pears?). My nose picked up some yeast hints as well. Hops dominate the taste, is this really a lager? Not as I know it anyway. Rarely has a lager beer tested my tastebuds so. Well hopped beers often become very dry in the aftertaste, this became drier, but not overly so. Not cheek suckingly dry anyway, nor does it taste metallic or like cardboard, a trait I’ve discovered in some lagers as I circumnavigate the globe looking for the perfect pint. Very drinkable, but too hoppy foe me to have as a session drink.

Multiple bottles in the past from Brewdog online. It pours pale yellow, with a thin white head. The nose is sweet malt, sweet citrus and grass. The taste is grass, sweet malt, butter, some floral and distant citrus, with a big bitter finish. Medium body and moderate-high, fizzy carbonation. Not my sort of thing.

330ml bottle, bit out of date 24/07/09, dang. Pours a clean golden body with short-lived white head. Pleasant aroma of honeyed malts, dried apricot, and faint ripe melon and citrus hops. Quite full bodied, carbonation is subdued for a lager, clean texture. Grainy malt on the body, honey and light biscuity sweetness. Bit of lemony and stonefruit fruit hop flavour, slight grassiness on a moderately bitter finish with a lingering husky dryness. Pretty good lager, despite the age. Nicely flavoured and goes down smoothly.

330 ml bottle@Olympen, Oslo. Thin white head. Brilliant copper brown color. Aroma is dry and quite sharp metallic, faint malty, with a modest fruity and hayish hop presence. Light malt body, kind of sharp, or maybe tight. Earthy hop bitterness. Light-bodied and almost watery in the mouth. Bitterish finish with a certain crispness. Not very exciting.
