Bottle at home - shared with Mette. Clear deep red/brown - white head. High hoppy, vegetables, resin, high bitterness, tobacco, grape, light malty sweetness, light chocolate, all the rest is pure hoppiness, licorice. Total hop-burn !!!

In bottle at Craig’s BrewDog tasting. Pours a dark amber colour with a decent yellowish head. Aroma of pine, pineapple, grapefruit and caramel. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. Moderate bitterness also. Not bad.

Dense earthy leafy hop aroma. Clear bronze. Great contrast. Light caramel, heavy hops! Black pepper and a raised eyebrow.

Bottle with no best before date, but I am assuming it is pretty old. Slow gusher. Pours with a hazy deep bronze body, large, off-white head. Creamy, good retention. Aromas are still very hoppy. Immediate notes of grapefruit, orange and tangerine peel. A bit harsh and grassy smelling. A medium amount of papery oxidation. Cigar humidor, peppery, cedar, tobacco aromas as well. Caramel and toffee. Flavors are roughly bitter, very ashy, earthy, soil, tobacco, dirt. Vegetable, coffee grounds. Minimal hop flavors remaining. I am giving it the benefit of the doubt scoring wise. I am pretty sure it is not a fresh bottle, but there is no best before date filled in. Strong bitter balance. Surprisingly light oxidation. Astringent, lively bubbles. Not very dry either. Benefit of the doubt, but not a good beer now, score is on the generous side.

Herber, ziemlich bitterer Antrunk, im Ansatz merkt man aufgrund einer penetranten Andeutung, dass das Bier nur wenig Alkohol enthlt. Weiter bitter, was das Bier deutlich dominiert. Zitrusnoten im Abgang. /8/8/8/9/8

smells like holding whole leaf hops in your hand. almost too hoppy, which slants towards a pellet hop flavour in my mind. or in some way fabricated.
amber colour, clear and slightly fizzy
i liked the first two bottles but this finally seems over the top.

[330ml bottle, Cornelius Beer&Wine, Edinburgh] This one pours an inviting dark gold and has a fantastic strong hop aroma – very much like an imperial IPA. Unfortunately that’s as good as it gets. On the palate it’s frightening – the tasting notes say ‘it messes you up’ (for once an understatement from BrewDog). It’s a great idea to make a 8%+ monster without the alcohol, but it just doesn’t work. The result is empty, unbalanced, and ultimately undrinkable. Spoiled by the agonisingly bitter aftertaste, it’s so acrid and unpleasant I ended up pouring it down the sink [24082009]

(Bottled, sampled 2010-07-10) Quite hazy reddish brown with a small, lacy head. Very strongly aromatic nose with American hops, fermented strawberries, and caramely malt. Flavor quite aggressively hopy, woody and caramely - but unfortunately also ashy-stuffy. Light to medium body, nice for the ABV, with low carbonation. An interesting try, but like many of the low ABV hop bombs, it falls into the irritatingly stuffy category.

(Bottle at Pikkulintu, Helsinki) Poured deep amber and clear. Head was medium sized and white. Aroma contained hops, malts and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied and bit dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were hops, malts, roastedness, fruitiness and bitterness. Aftertaste was bitter and malty.

Pours copper with a beige head. Aroma is light caramel, heavy hop, grass, pine and citrus. Flavour is high bitter, heavy hop, citrus, grass and pine, no malt. Very unbalanced.

Bottle. Clear orange color, medium head. Aroma of a lot of hop, bit piney and grapefruit. Caramel malt in taste, quite bitter. Very decent bitter beer for such a low ABV.
