One of our favourite American hops; all about the fruit. Think blood orange, orange zest and citrussy goodness fruit, the fruit is balanced by floral notes in the most classic of new wave IPA hops.

August 19, 2013 - draught at BrewDog Camden. Hazy yellow, decent head. Aroma of tropical fruit malt and pungent borderline catty bitterness. Taste follows, more hop, less malt, some alcohol - nicely balanced. Average chewy body, medium finish. Pretty damned nice.

Svesse (6036) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - APR 26, 2014
(Draught at BrewDog Camden, London, 9 Apr 2014) Pale amber colour with brief, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, tea, lemon peel and biscuity malt. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, tea, lemon peel, a slightly sharp and metallic malt profile and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well made, possibly a bit one dimensional. Nice one.

lusikka (5927) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 27, 2014
330 ml bottle. Pours a golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of lemon peel, some basil and fresh mint. Flavour of rich citrusy bitterness, chewy orange notes, sweetness and some resin. The bitterness kicks in quite nicely in the finish. Medium bodied. Quite classic in it’s bitterness, and it works as good as always. I found Comet to be even better, though.

33 cl bottle.
Pours clear golden color with a medium sized head. Aroma is grape fruity and somewhat resinous with hops, mild orange zest and pine needle notes also. Flavor is caramelous and tropically fruity, a bit sweet but the grape fruits cut it through a bit, mild piney notes with hay and dried fruits. Thick oily palate, doesn’t feel quite fresh but definitely the best of the bunch. Hop profile ok, a bit too sweet and resinous.

7/VI/14 - 33cl bottle @ Klaas & Liesje’s place - BB: 11/III/15 (2014-602) Thanks to Klaas for sharing the bottle!

Clear dark orange beer, fizzy irregular yellow head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, some melons, caramel, sweet. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish, pretty bitter, fruity, pineapple, citrus, bit metallic. Aftertaste: metallic, bitter, little medicinal bitterness. Not bad at all!

Countbeer (4303) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - JUN 12, 2014
Bottle: Served in a shaker: Medium to smaller dized creamy foamy head on top of a clear orange colored beer. Aroma is a typical but good fruity ipa with flowers and hints of malts, soap, chalk and some caramel. Flavours of malts, caramel, fruits like pine apple, apricot, hint of grapefruit, light sticky, some herbs and bitters. Aftertaste is bitter, herbal, caramel, creamy, light fruity and some malts. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, more than just a medium body and a creamy texture. Nice beer yet it’s within the BB time, but it tastes like it was just over it... Still a nice beer.
