COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Pacific North West of America is home to the Citra hop. America is not just about cheer leaders, a silly version of football, elastic top jeans and cheeseburgers. They grow remarkable hops and Citra is a killer example of this, embodying all that is good about American hops and then some. A relatively new hop on the block, it may even seduce you into thinking the American Dream is not just a catch phrase to sell movies and elect Presidents. Fearfully hard to resist, this beer is loaded with brash citrus, grapefruit orange, hints of resinous pine and touches of black currant. Devilishly moreish. I am a little bit too obsessed with this beer for my own good.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours golden with a slight haze and an off-white head. Very fresh hop aroma – loads of citrus and peach. Medium body, sweet and fruity base with these amazing Citra hops, again tropical fruits. Not overly bitter in the finish. 050411

Dark orange and a little hazy. Head is quite firm. Grapefruit again, now with peach. Pretty smooth. Not as dry in the mouth as Nelson Sauvin. Oranges in here and some cereal, as well. Good flavour here. 2th out of 4.

Bottled. Amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of lemon, straw, hops, and malt. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of hops, and lemon, leading to a very bitter finish.

Bottle from Euston Tap. Colour is a lovely dark brown amber with some haziness. Aroma is amazing. Massively passion fruity as you would expect with citra hops and also some grapefruit, gooseberry and faintly lemon. Flavour is quite raw. Floral and citrous hops with a big grapefruit kick on the finish. Would prefer some balance in there from malt or something but it does mellow on the palate after a few sips.

On tap @ Beer Temple Amsterdam. The aroma has a lot of citrus. Bit hazy, orange coloured beer with a medium, off white head. The taste is bitter, quite citric. Medium bodied beer with a smooth, clean, refreshing and dry palate.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Love the aroma - yum! Colour fine, not much head though. Taste is blinding. Perfectly balanced sweet and sour, with hops like a fresh breeze and lightly spiced citrus, mixed up with tartness. Fantastic. Drinkable, flavoursome down to the last drop. Sensational actually.
