Flaske 0,33l. Spandert av Rune og delt hjemme hos ham 14 Apr 11. Gylden. Høyt kremaktig skum. Sterk sitrusaroma. Sitrusen dominerer totalt hele veien. God - men uvariert.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Into the glass, a red-golden beer pours with coarse-pored foam. It smells fabulous of aroma hops, very citrus-like, fruity, slight pine aroma. Starts very hoppy, citrusy, tangy acidity, very fruity, with lots of pine aroma again. The middle part is hoppy, floral, slightly sweet and very fruity. Goes into a fruity-sweet finish with lots of aroma hops and some pine wood!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from El Irlandés. Batch #438. Pours a hazy bronze color with a light reddish tint. It is crowned by a medium white head that laces very well in my glass. Aroma is of course hoppy with lots of grapefruit and maybe some passionfruit. I get some hay notes. Citra hops are more fruity than expected. Taste is reasonably bitter (granted it’s not a hop bomb) with more grapefruit and resinous notes. The malty backbone gives subtle grainy hints but you get hop bitterness from start to finish. This India Pale Ale is medium bodied with a light carbonation and a bitter and lingering finish. It showcases the Citra hops well. That said, it’s a simple IPA without all the nuances of other BrewDog’s beers.

Det här är en av de bättre i ’ipa is dead’ serien. Kraftig kropp och en kraftfull smak med mycket syra. Efterbeskan/smaken är både lång och behaglig. Slutsats: riktigt god.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bottle) Amber colour, slightly hazy, with frothy beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus peel, grapefruit, passion fruit, dried apricots and hints of crisp-bread. Fruity, malty taste with grapefruit, orange peel, Seville orange, passion fruit, apricots and hints of treacle and toasted bread. Slightly more than medium body, with a touch of sweetness and a generous citric bitterness. Very nice IPA with a fresh and clean hop profile.

Pours a cloudy copper with and aroma of fresh pine with hint of grapefruit. Wow the flavour is a grapefruit hit with a nice malt backing, i love it!. Reminds me of Feral breweries Hop Hog IPA with more malt.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
[Bottle from The Bottle Shop, Canterbury] Pours bright orangey-amber, large frothy off-white head. Big fresh lemon aroma. Lots of citrus up front on the taste, lemon and grapefruit, developing into hints of tropical flavours - lime, maybe some passion fruit. Some spice in the bacground - maybe ginger. Enough maltiness to give it body, but a lovely light frothy mouthfeel, which makes it astonishingly easy to drink for a beer of this strength, and very more-ish too - encouraging you to take dangerously large swigs. In fact, despite the American hops, this feels very like a British ale - I could really go for pints of this in a pub (albeit and then fall over very quickly!). Rather than thinking it was a good IPA, I was left think it was a superb bitter - and wondering why more bitters didn’t taste like this. Fantastic stuff!
