Using the same base 6.7% beer, a baby version of our Hardcore, we slam a mouth puckering 75 IBUs on top of a base of Marris Otter, Crystal Malt and Caramalt before throwing dizzying amounts of hops at these beers.
A pseudo noble hop. Noble like a mother fucking king. But not a boring king. Noble like a chain smoking, pimp of a pinball wizard king. Apparently, they are the best kind.
Hailing from Slovenia, Dana was originally cross bred from the German Hallertau Magnum and native Slovenian varieties. Like any good faux noble hop should it infuses a rustic, musty spiciness into a classic beast of a malt base, just like your grandfather’s old school aftershave.
This hop of Eastern European origin is best enjoyed whilst dreaming up a song about a lovely donkey that fell in love with a princess that is destined to take the Eurovision song contest by storm.

Bottle - Slight hazy orange colour, medium white head, good retention and lacing. Strange fruity and herbal hoppy nose with some tropical fruits, mango, pineapple. Taste is bitter, easy malt base with fruity and herbal hoppiness. Medium body, average carbonation, dry hoppy finish. Strange, but not bad.

From the very old notes, hence this is not a real rating, but more just a mark to myself that I have tried this at one point. Very fruity and weird single hop brew, but I didn’t mind it very much at the time.

33cl bottle, served in Shaker. Hazy orange colour with one finger off-white frothy head. A lot of caramel on the nose and some tropical fruits as well. The flavor is moderately hoppy, there’s still a lot of caramel and earthy notes. Alcohol presence, quite unexpected. Medium body, good carbonation. Pretty average.

Without a doubt the best beer I’ve ever had. It’s the only one I’ve rated 11/11 by my own scoring method. It just has the right balance of everything. It’s a shame this has now been discontinued.

bottled. orange with a light haze and minimal white head; aroma of urinal cake and jelly crystals; a bit of roughness about the synthetic fruit flavours, saved somewhat by a good whack of bitterness
