Released as part of 2014 IPA is Dead selection
As you’d expect from a New Zealand hop variety, Kohatu contributes bags of tropical fruit, but with loads of lime notes, & pineapple hits.

Not so fond of this IPA is dead series. Aroma is nice, piney, tropical and caramel. The taste is for me quite out of balance, its as if alcohol, malts and hops are just there one next to another, instead of being complimentary to eachother. There’s an fulsome taste to it which is a bit too excessif for me.. Maybe i’ve drank too many brewdogs lately..

BOTTLE. Cloudy pale orange colour with small foamy head.. Sticky hops on the nose with some melon & grapefruit??.. Huge resin stickiness through the whole mouthful, subtle sweet fruity hops with a sappy malt finish.. Better fresh for sure.. Sourced Cellarbrations @ Capel

330ml bottle served in a pint glass. Best Before: 11/03/2015. A: Pours a slightly cloudy orange to amber color forming a huge big bubbled soapy off white head with super retention and some soapy lacings left in the glass. S: Strong notes of caramel malts and hops. Very fruity. Strong notes of tropical fruits. Pineapple, lime and watermelon. Sweet and a bit boozy. T: Slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of caramel malts, tropical fruits. Pineapple, grapefruit and watermelon. Notes of sweet bread and grass. A bit boozy in the mouth too. Good but not very persistent bitterness. M: Medium body. Average carbonation. Caramel, grass and pineapple in the the aftertaste. O: Good drinkability. It was expired and already a bit compromised by its age but still an average IPA.

Last of the over drink-by dated IPA is dead release from 2014.
At just on cool and into a tulip. Misted, orange amber with a film on the meniscus and no head. Heavily resinous, big bad hops on the nose that offer up notes of caramelised plums, blood orange and rhubarb, leavened white bread and almond meal (?). More pf the same on the palate. Jammy and sweet with caramelised fruit dominating over bready malts and a slight yeasty bite. Body is light but the sweetness gives it the illusion of more. Not much in the aftertaste; seems to just off quietly. No alcohol present. Quite woody with a light spice and earthiness giving it depth. Not much else here. I’d have a stab and say this would be a cracker fresh! (33cL, BB 11/03/15, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)

the aroma is malty and fruity with some hints of pine, plum and garden berries... the taste is malty with notes of pine needles, citrus, caramel and brown sugar... sweet, dry and, a little bit, bitter aftertaste...

A interesting one from IPA is dead. But not surprising. But is a BrewDog! Spicy and citrus.

20.4.2014. Clear pale colour, almost no head. By memory the aroma is most different from the others in the series. It reminds of some alcohol and flowers. Taste has some sweetness, almost like bubblegum, also more common pine bitterness, fruitcake, lime. Easy to drink but a bit boring.

Bottle 0,33L. Hazy copper colour, small, off-white, creamy head, excellent lacing and no visible carbonation. Hoppy aroma of plum brandy reminds me of Schneiderweisse Tap 5 - Meine Hopfenweisse, one of my favourite German beers. There is some piney aroma, too. Light bitter taste with plum brandy note (again). Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. This one is my favourite in Ipa is dead series.
