3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Beer3000 (3723) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAY 1, 2013
330 ml bottle sampled in 2011. Pretty clear, golden body with a nice, dense off-white head. Strong citric abd tropical fruit aroma with ripe mangos and pine. Flavor as expected from aroma, tropical/citric, ripe mangos and pine. Balanced good bitterness and a fine malt base with some caramel. Medium body and bitter aftertaste. Nice, the hop profile is more obvious here than other single hop Nelsons I have sampled.

19th February 2011 Slight haze on this amber beer. Tidy white head. The nose is a bit too much cats piss! Crispy palate. Pretty intense Nelson Sauvin flavours! Skunk with grapefruit and a little lemon. Trace of blackcurrant and spice. Finishes semi dry. Not the best Nelson IPA I have had - this one accentuated the skunk and pee rather than the fruit flavours that the hop can impart.

Botella de 330ml. Vaso Shaker. (Notas pasadas).
330ml bottle. Shaker glass. From my notes. Deep orangish amber color headed by a very close yellowish froth. Medium size bubbled, thick layer & lasting crown. Spider web on sides. Intense hoppy aromas, tropical fruit & resiny hues to the nose. Dry & sharp bitter flavor opposite to a sweet & gentle fruitness. Woody hints. Medium but flavorful body. Quite carbonated. Oily texture. Well balanced flavors & aromas. Odd beer but a big one in fact.

(Bottle) Hazy golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, tropical fruit, passion fruit, orange marmalade and resinous hops. Fruity, malty taste with passion fruit, citrus, black-currant, gooseberries, hints of caramel and generous amounts of resinous, citric hops in the finish. More than medium body, with a slight sweetness. Solid hop character. Very nice beer.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Grima (1861) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - FEB 2, 2012
The beer in the glass is orange-yellow, very cloudy, with fine creamy head. It smells lots like aroma hops, flowery, fruity (orange and lemon) and light caramel. Starts with a flowery aroma hops, coupled with some caramel, and again a lot of orange and citrus fruits. The middle part is dominated by the orange flavor, paired with some citrus and floral hops. In the background it is slightly caramelly. Goes into a long-lasting, very orangey finish with some grapefruit and flowery hops.
