COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nelson is a love it or hate it kinda hop. We are cool with that, if we wanted to keep everyone happy we would be brewing Fosters anyway. Sharp as a razor, this New Zealand hop slices its way through your taste buds and is brutally resinous, almost scraping the intense flavours of passion fruit along your poor tongue.  There is a huge depth of tropical fruit flavour with astringent gooseberry balanced against the robust malt base.  Throw another shrimp on the Barbie mate and you are all set. New Zealand is near Austria, right?

Bottled. An amber beer with an off-white head. The aroma has notes of lemon, straw, malt, and grapefruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of grapefruits, lemons, malt, and hops, leading to a very bitter finish.

Bottled. Cloudy pale amber, brief head. Lovely minty black currant aroma. Mid sweet with rounded mouthfeel and above medium body. Lots of esty black currant. Long bitter finish. Feels somehow drier and less caramelly than the others in the series. That, and the hops are supreme.

Cloudy golden color; medium sized creamy head. The aroma is pungent as expected, with dominant passion fruit, but also some cream, soil, like the Bramling Cross tasted just before. Correct body; quite good caramel and toffee flavor, quite dry mouthfeel; the hop is good, but it doesn’t shine as it should in this beer, the fruity and fresh character being covered by the strong malt flavor, and having a too high earthy impression, soil; the final bitterness is strong. In the end, it’s anyway a very pleasant beer.

2011-06-30, bottle from Havnens, Vejle, 8-3-8-5-16=40
Cloudy light amber color, with a medium sized head. Very strong aroma of passion fruit, pungent and sweet; other tropical fruits as well. The mouthfeel is quite dry although the body is not weak; good caramel and toffee flavor, evident, but discreet enough to let the hop shine; the flavor has a light earthy side; good bitterness, without being excessive, and very aromatic and fruity hopping.
Tasted side to side to the Citra; this one has a much cleaner flavor, and therefore better hop experience.
Well blended and refreshing.

Bottle at aBottle Shop tasting. Amber colour thin lasting white head. Peach mango tropical fruits. Lovely aroma really good. Its good. I mean one of the best Nelson Sauvin single hops I have had. Good but the Bramling Cross was the best.
