4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 ComradeK (526) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - JUL 11, 2011
330ml bottle. Pours a cloudy, copper-tinted gold, with a medium beige head, which lasts quite well, and leaves good lacing. Passionfruit dominates the nose, with some other tropical fruit aromas, chiefly mango and kiwifruit, adding to the mix. A touch of grainy caramel rounds it out nicely. The merest trace of passionfruit appears to begin, before being overcome first by pine, and then an almost chilli-like prickling on the tongue. This is replaced by smooth caramel, but only briefly, as sweet mango comes in towards the finish, which subtly winds down the brash flavours of the beer into a smooth, fruity finale. Simply put, this is one of the best beers I have had for quite a while. The Nelson Sauvin hops are much more dominating than those in the others of this series that I have tried so far, yet their flavour is amazing - brash and powerful, but intriguing, and even, towards the finish, quite smooth. I enjoyed this beer immensely.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Skinnyviking (5712) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 13, 2011
Bottle. This is how a beer should look. High creamy long lasting white head. Clear amber body. Beautiful. The hops aroma is distinct and I love it. Candylike sweet fruity aroma with a spicy twist. Flavor of course dominated by the hops bitterness buth the lovely fruityness and dryness prevails. Low carbonation. Long bitter aftertaste.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20 Marthinus (276) - DENMARK - APR 28, 2011
Pours orange with a beige white head. Aroma is hoppy. Taste is nice but simple hoppy the balanced malty way. Bitter finish.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Aaaaah, the aroma. The most delicious aroma I think I’ve ever experienced in a beer - it smells of unplaceable tropical fruit and reminds me of green Quosh cordial - anyone remember that from the eighties? Anyway, the beer is a less fruity IPA, with a drier edge, which leads through to the finish. Has some faint burnt notes. Very easy to swig, but with a moreish quality. I could handle a 4-pack of this one.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 brugmanneke (81) - GERMANY - AUG 20, 2011
(bottle) Pours an amber-orange color, slightly hazy. Massively fruity on the nose, a little sour even (but not in a bad way). Aroma of passion fruit and lychees. Balanced by a nice maltiness. Aroma of the hops stays on the palate for a long time. Taste is mainly bitter, of course, but well-balanced. Intense and full-bodied. Demands attention, not to be drunk casually. I really love this one!

Cítrica, refrescant i lleugerament amarga. Una IPA quasi perfecte i dic quasi per no semblar tant benevolent.

Pours a nice cloudy dark copper with a brilliant aroma of caramel malt and grapefruit/passionfruit. A nice deep malt flavour with great citrus undertones. This is a great hop and a great beer.

Aroma of grapefruit and sweet oranges. Ripe orange flavour, opening into more bitterness. Some bitter almonds. Great beer, the best of the four.

Pours cloudy golden with a low head. Aroma is very fruity with some hops. Flavor has lots of hops with some malts and fruits. Everything I expected from a Brewdog IPA.
