330 ml bottle sampled in 2011. Pretty clear, golden body with a nice, dense off-white head. Strange aroma of fruit, bubble gum, rubber and flowers. Flavor is sweet and bitter with some kind of artificial fruit, flower and cheese. Medium body and bitter aftertaste. Sure Sorachi Ace is interesting, but as a single hop it can easily be too much, as in this case.

Old rating I found when looking through my papers on my desk. It was released at Systembolaget a while back. Smell of rubber, plastic and dill, also some artificial candy-like aroma that reminds me of vinegums. The taste is even worse, very artificial with burned plastic and rubber. Lots of dill that reminds me of crawfish. I remember thinking this was a faulty bottle but every Sorachi Ace beer I’ve tried has had the same aroma. I don’t know where they get the whole bubble gum thing from.

High but rather short off white heaed over a light clovdy pale amber beer. Fruity and a litle sulphur aroma that increase with the temperature. As they say in the description of the beer it really taste like bubbelgum. The maltiness is smooth with no or only small caramell taste. Balanced bitterness and medium body.

Hazy amber beer, big off white head. Crispy palate turning softer. Mild creamy malt base. Lovely fresh lightly herbal hops with a semi sweet lemon citrus. Minerals in the semi soft finish. Mild hop bitterness. Slight mint tone as it gets a little warmer. Lovely!

Pours clear copper color with a medium head. Aroma of hops, malts and fruits. Flavor of hops, fruits, caramel and some nuts. It goes without saying that sorachi ace isn’t my favourite hop variety.

Bottle shared by Esp0r july 2011, thanks! Hazy golden body, large white head. Aroma of bubble gum, oranges and dill. Spicy taste of grapefruit and orange, vanilla and biscuit. Finishes with a lasting dry aftertaste. Nice!

Bottle from Brewdog.com. Very strange. Odd orange twang at the end. Most people love this one, I’m just not for it I’m afraid.

The beer in the glass is dark yellow with a little foam. It smells like a strawberry field, slightly sweet, sugary and chewing gum. Starts very sweet, like strawberries, slightly herbaceous, chewing gum also comes with some mint flavor. The middle part very herbal and slightly grassy, again with some strawberry and mint. Goes into a very minty, fruity, bubble gum-like finish with some herbal notes! Sorachi Ace is a fuckin’ awesome hop!!!

Det här var en märklig öl med en märklig smak, smaken i sig är kraftfull och bra men jag kan känna en tendens av mögelost. Slutsats: smaken är minst sagt märklig och jag gillar inte mögelost i min öl.
