The devastatingly bitter finish will drill straight through your taste buds. If you like hops and bitterness then go ahead. But be warned: this beer has more bitterness than a human palate (or nipple) can detect. For freaks, craft beer junkies and stamp collectors only.

The second placed beer in our 2012 Prototype Challenge is a BrewDog staff favourite, and made a brief guest appearance in our bars last summer.

Deep golden clear body, modest off white head, some rimmy lacings. Aroma; pine forest, resiny malts, citrus, lemon, wildberries. Taste; resin, pine, juicy resiny malts, citrus peel, grapefruit peel, leather notes, ash juice notes. Solid on palate, average carbonation, feels as solid IPA. Roasted malts, distinct bitter and some ash in finish. Lingering resin. [33cl btl 7.2%abv BB 22/11/14 B@systembolaget Storheden]

Keg@brewdog, sheffield. Golden beer with small head. Aroma of pineapple and passion fruits. Taste is passionfruit, sherbet and some pine resin. Fizzy sherbet on the palate. Very good.

Peachy aroma. Very little foam top. Probably one of the bitterest beer I’ve tried. Not for everybody. But definitely a must try for bitter beers.

I enjoyed the bitterness but I honestly do not think this is 100 IBU's. I've had more hop-forward craft with more intense bitterness with less IBU's. It was also lacking on the aroma front. It was there but not as intense as I would've liked.

Cloudy yellow appearance with small white head. Aroma of hops, melon and pineapple. Refreshing taste, bitter in character but smooth and easy to drink. Very tasty and a bold IPA.

Bottle shared with McTapps. Fresh hops all the way with a touch of vanilla. Pepper in the back with limejuice and maybe coriander. Sharp, hard-hitting bitter finish. Not bad.

Bottle from Rudat in Dortmund. The beer pours out in a light hazy light amber colour with steady low head and medium body. Aroma of fresh hops and spruce with some citrus hints. Taste of fresh hops, light barley, spruce, oak, pine, citrus fruits, grapefruit, thyme, coriander and mild pink pepper. Very quaffable and enjoyable.

Bottle. Resin and pine on the nose. Pours a clear yellow orange with quite a nice head that recedes somewhat, good lacing. Taste is upfront, full-on: not a lot of subtlety here, but hey! That’s a big, satisfying IPA for you. Would’ve thought it was West Coast had it not been Brewdog. The palate is full and fulfilling. Big, bitter grapefruit finish. Good stuff.

Bottle shared by Pure Evil. Thanks! Hazy golden yellow with a tiny white head/ring clinging to the glass. Aroma is bready malty with citrus hops. Taste is as above but with more punch to it. Medium body, soft carbonation. Heavy grapefruit bitter aftertaste.
