Start with a colossal grapefruit aroma. Pile on bitterness after thumping bitterness, and ride the anarchy wherever it takes you. The caramel razor is sharp, but the resinous bite drills straight through your taste buds. For blitzing the mediocre, raising hell and revelling in the aftermath, Jack Hammer is the end of the line. The hopped-up, pucker-mouthed terminal extreme of craft brewing. This beer is bitter. Very bitter. If you push that button, don’t say we didn’t warn you…

Very citrusy, heavy orange aromas, strong grapefruit. Hazy orange with a decently lasting white head. Dry, bitter, loads of citrus flavors. Medium bodied.

Bottle, KØ15. Pours nearly clear golden with airy white head. Clear aroma of fruit, malt and flowers, with notes of hops. Bitter, hoppy flavour with cotric and malty notes and estery touches. Soft carbonation. Bitter aftertaste with notes of needles. Okay, quite decent, actually.

Ruthless India Pale Ale. Brown bottle, tesco, Edinburgh, 330ml. Scent is like a plant. Sage, rosemary, dirt. Pours medium golden, transparent and slightly hazy. Taste is dense concentrate of sour hops. Citrus, lime maybe. Finish is light and slightly dry. Excellent. Everything about the scent and taste reminds me of yucca, sage, and rosemary - feels like hiking in California.

Butelka. Barwa ciemno złota, klarowna. Piana biała, średnio wysoka, utrzymująca się do samego końca. Intensywny aromat grejpfruta, karmel. Wyrazisty smak grejpfruta, cierpki. Wytrawne. Goryczka średnia do wysokiej, niezalegająca. Piwo świetnie zbalansowane, alkohol dobrze ukryty.Dobrze pijalne. Piwo, które zapada w pamięć.

Bottle from Mi-orge Mi-houblon, Arlon. Pours clear golden, white head that dissipates quickly. Strong aromas of grapefruit, lemon peel and hops. Taste is very hoppy, but not too bitter, contrary to the claim on the label. I also tasted grapefruit, lemongrass and orange. Carbonation is a bit weak for my taste. Mouthfeel is full and creamy and the nice bitter taste is very drawn out. Overall a nice beer.

Served on tap at Brewdog Birmingham. Light straw colour with a fluffy white head which quickly fades. Aroma is fruity, citrus hop notes. Fruity hops, not a massive amount of maltiness to back the hops (maybe this had an impact on the watery mouthfeel) and even a bit of tartness. Not a patch on hardcore IPA - the only beer I have tried of Brewdogs which I have thought was worthy of their reputation. This one is not for me.

330ml bottle, pours a clear light amber with a smallish white head that is not too long lasting. Aroma of pine sap and grapefruit. Initial sweetness and vague biscuity malt are soon battered away by the bitter hop onslaught. Big grapefruit peel, pine sap and paracetamol flavours in the super drying, astringent finish. This is not a timid beer. Brash verging on aggressive but very good.

Pours clear golden with a white head. Huge grassy pine aromas. Taste is grapefruit and tropical hop forward, finishing with pure hop bitterness. Solid IPA.
