Start with a colossal grapefruit aroma. Pile on bitterness after thumping bitterness, and ride the anarchy wherever it takes you. The caramel razor is sharp, but the resinous bite drills straight through your taste buds. For blitzing the mediocre, raising hell and revelling in the aftermath, Jack Hammer is the end of the line. The hopped-up, pucker-mouthed terminal extreme of craft brewing. This beer is bitter. Very bitter. If you push that button, don’t say we didn’t warn you…

330ml bottle at home bought at Biertempel Graben, Linz. BB 16.02.2016. yellow almost clear color, small white head. strong smells of lemon grass, some grapefruit, oranges, herbs, citric, light caramel. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes herbs, grass, light lemon grass, some fruits, grapefruit, mango, resin, light pine notes in the background, also malt backbone but quite subtle compared with the hop notes. finishes with rather strong bitterness of lemon grass, herbs, resin and light pines. good beer but for me a bit too unbalanced towards the bitter side with too strong notes of lemon grass / grass / herbal notes. would prefer some more fruit notes, but maybe I need to drink this one fresher..

Citrus aroma, a bit earthiness. Caramel malts. Nice bitterness which is not aggressive, and it is really smooth. Looooooooooong, looooooong, long bitter aftertaste. Light white head.

Pours clear golden colour with white tiny head. Visually medium carbonation. Aroma is very citousy, withou notice of an alcohol. Flavour is similar: notes of citrus, grapefruit and oranges. Malt sweetness is mild medium, hop bitterness is high. Finish is dry, long lasting bitter. Good, but not superlative ipa.

0,33lt bottle @ Valentin - Curious Bierkneipe, Volos. Aroma very light with some malts and maybe some hops, black in appearance with small head, light body with a light taste, a bit coffe, roasty, a bit bitter. Not the best I had.

0.3 bottle. Looks good: A glass full of orange, clear liquid with a nice white head. Aroma is great, very hoppy, and by hoppy I mean tons of tropical fruits. Taste is very bitter, and that’s what this beer is about: fruits and bitterness. Bitterness so powerful that it stays in your mouth from the first sip to the last, of the next beer you drink. Palete is just right: medium body, standart IPA texture with enough carbonation that the beer feels refreshing. Overall: great if you like bitter, refreshing beers.

Tastes great. Crisp citrus aroma and a very bitter taste that stays in the palate. Too strong to drink too much ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 21A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 380 CABB. AROMA: nice hop aroma with a combination of floral and fruits. notes range from grapefruit to passionfruit and pine/resin. background of a supportive sweet malt aroma. APPEARANCE: dark gold color with material in suspension. average ivory head with medium retention. TASTE: hop flavours more restrained with notes of pine, resin and some passionfruit. slight sweet malty background. medium-high bitterness with an almost dry and bitter finish that lasts. PALATE: medium-light body and no hop derived astringency. moderate carbonation. OVERALL: a good IPA example.
