Start with a colossal grapefruit aroma. Pile on bitterness after thumping bitterness, and ride the anarchy wherever it takes you. The caramel razor is sharp, but the resinous bite drills straight through your taste buds. For blitzing the mediocre, raising hell and revelling in the aftermath, Jack Hammer is the end of the line. The hopped-up, pucker-mouthed terminal extreme of craft brewing. This beer is bitter. Very bitter. If you push that button, don’t say we didn’t warn you…

Tasted this in BrewDog, Glasgow, on 31st January 2014. Cask, draft flow system dispense. Dull opaque amber in colour with a thin white head. Strong flavour of ripe mango in the long nose. Thin resiny mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malt base gives a powerful fruit flavour of mango, guava, peaches and Gaia melon. Powerful New World hops give a fruity intense kick to the long hoppy aftertaste. Finish is powerful and malty with tropical fruit flavours still in the palate. This is a decent Imperial IPA but there are better versions of this out there.

Bottle at home. Pale yellow with a white head, ok lacings. Aroma light malty (caramel), heavy hoppy (flowery). Flavor light sweet, heavy bitter, light spicy. Medium+ body. Fantastic. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Tropical mango aroma. Flavour is fruit cocktail before a searing bitterness sets in. So much hops! No balance but all the better for it.

Golden colour with a white head. Aroma of hops, hops, hops. Tropical fruit such as grapefruit, mango, etc. Flavour is tropical fruit hoppiness with a massive bitter aftertaste. Very enjoyable IPA.

Craft at Brewdog bar in Stockholm Aroma: very slight, fruits Taste: Hops! Pure taste of hops. Palate: medium carbonation is all you feel in addition to those hops. Aftertaste: hops. That's all there is. Very drinkable despite strong hoppiness.

Shared a 33cl bottle from Mi-Orge Mi-Houblon. Pours an almost clear pale yellow colour with a very small white lacing. Aroma is passion fruit, mango and floral hops. Soft carbonation and light body. Taste is bitter with a very suave sweet note and very very dry. Long bitter and dry finish. Overall, a fantastic beer but not very consistent between aroma and flavour.

Bottle. Dark golden beer with a strong head. The aroma is lightly hopped, and the flavour is very well hopped with a large degree of bitterness and some malt. Overall a nice strong IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled 330ml. -from Magic Beer Room Zagreb. Pale golden coloured, small white head, citrusy hoppy nose, slightly herbal also. Sweet malty, quite strong herbal hoppy and heavy bitterness in the finish. Even too strong bitterness.

Bottle. Pours golden. Hop aromas dominate and are very rich (grapefruit, orange, resin, mango, lychee, some pineapple). Very hoppy with high bitterness. Could use some malt for balance but still a very good beer.

UPDATED: NOV 18, 2014 330ml bottle. Lovely hoppy, citrus, fruity and aromatic IPA. Very refreshing and easily drinkable for a 7.2% ABV beer. Better than Punk IPA which I also like a lot. I have to say though there was very little head from this bottle. The hops tend to dominate but there is some caramel present from the malt. Great beer.
