The devastatingly bitter finish will drill straight through your taste buds. If you like hops and bitterness then go ahead. But be warned: this beer has more bitterness than a human palate (or nipple) can detect. For freaks, craft beer junkies and stamp collectors only.

The second placed beer in our 2012 Prototype Challenge is a BrewDog staff favourite, and made a brief guest appearance in our bars last summer.

330 ml bottle. #361. BB 25/11/13. Kitty's, Helsinki, Finland. Clear golden colour with a small foamy white head. Resiny and piney hops, bitterness and sweet maltiness in the aroma. The flavour is pretty much the same. Resin, pine and lots of bitterness in the flavour. Tasty. How this differs from the other BrewDog IPAs? Dunno. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330 ml bottle @ Kittyís, Helsinki.
Pours a slightly hazy golden amber colour with a white head. Aroma of sweet fruits, pungent grapefruit and caramel. Flacour of caramel malts, strong floral hops, grapefruit, herbal notes and some berryish notes. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and a bitter, dry, grapefruity finish. Good.

Aroma: Overpowering, floral hop aroma. Tropical fruits, too - lychee, pineapple and mango.

Appearance: Clear amber body with a huge off-white head that fades. Lively carbonation. Very light lacing marks.

Taste: One of the hoppiest beers Iíve ever tasted. Flavours of lemon, pineapple and grapefruit. Very little malt character. The 7.4% ABV is definitely noticeable. Sharp bitter finish.

Palate: Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Light fizz of carbonation.

Overall: Extremely hoppy, astringent and unbalanced... but I quite like it.

Bottle. Yellow, slight coppery, clear. Malty caramel nose, with a bit green, pine resin, mango, citrus hoppyness. Pretty normal bd, except that iím not picking up as much florals and fruity hoppyness. Body is medium. Very bitter. Malts, resin etc in flavour. Ok, as always from brewdog. A bitter, raw, more UK one compared to the fruity US-style stuff they usually make.

33cl bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours golden with a slight haze and a decent head. The nose has grapefruit and grapefruit zest and Iím not sure why but I can tell itís Brewdog possibly from the yeast. The taste confirms the grapefruit and zest. The palate is light to medium in structure with a long zingy finish. Overall, itís a nice beer but Iím not sure I can really differentiate from the other Brewdog American style IPAs.
