Start with a colossal grapefruit aroma. Pile on bitterness after thumping bitterness, and ride the anarchy wherever it takes you. The caramel razor is sharp, but the resinous bite drills straight through your taste buds. For blitzing the mediocre, raising hell and revelling in the aftermath, Jack Hammer is the end of the line. The hopped-up, pucker-mouthed terminal extreme of craft brewing. This beer is bitter. Very bitter. If you push that button, don’t say we didn’t warn you…

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 21A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 380 CABB. AROMA: nice hop aroma with a combination of floral and fruits. notes range from grapefruit to passionfruit and pine/resin. background of a supportive sweet malt aroma. APPEARANCE: dark gold color with material in suspension. average ivory head with medium retention. TASTE: hop flavours more restrained with notes of pine, resin and some passionfruit. slight sweet malty background. medium-high bitterness with an almost dry and bitter finish that lasts. PALATE: medium-light body and no hop derived astringency. moderate carbonation. OVERALL: a good IPA example.

Aroma is clove, lemon grass, citrus, a slight funkiness, and an earthiness. Faint notes of caramel and roasted malts. Taste is sweet malts with caramel consumed by quite potent bitterness. The hop palate is deep and complex. It is full and fresh and just as the aroma alluded to. Finishes surprisingly smooth however with light tanin. Appearance is a faintly pale gold with a thin pearl head retains fairly well.

Cloudy yellow orange body with a light white head. Aroma is sweet almost candied orange and caramel but taste is a bitter ipa with strong hop flavour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Robe blonde et limpide. Mousse moyennement. Arômes très résineux. Les 1eres saveurs sont résineuses, avec des notes d’ agrumes (surtout pamplemousse). Après, fruits exotiques, surtout fruit de la passion et litchi. Très longue en bouche. Une excellente IPA.

Looks fine, aroma is strongly hoppy, herbal and earthy. For some reason I thought this was strong but only 7,2, normal IPA strength. Drinks as one IPA should drink. Aggressively hoppy. Strong herbal character and some citrus. Not that many different flavours though and quite simple. Strong bones in the body. Solid.

straw gold in colour with nice thin off white head. smell is almost raisin sweet, resinous pine, citrus fruit. spiciyness taste is sweet caramel/tropical fruit. that dries up into a lingering bitterness. smooth mouthfeel nice and balanced for the amount of hops. delish!

Pours cloudy copper with loads of sediment. Aroma is a hop punch. Deliciously citrusy, deliciously dank, deliciously sticky. The flavour and palate is somewhat of a letdown. The bitterness is too harsh to allow all of the delicious flavours through. It dominates the palate. Still a great beer, just a little too heavy on the steely bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Orange color with white head. Aroma is grapefruit, pineapples, mango, tropical fruits, resinous. Taste is oily, juicy, same fruits again, big residual sweetness, slight boozy finish. Low carbonation. A fully loaded hop puncher.
