The devastatingly bitter finish will drill straight through your taste buds. If you like hops and bitterness then go ahead. But be warned: this beer has more bitterness than a human palate (or nipple) can detect. For freaks, craft beer junkies and stamp collectors only.

The second placed beer in our 2012 Prototype Challenge is a BrewDog staff favourite, and made a brief guest appearance in our bars last summer.

Keg at Brewdog Shepherds Bush, London. A golden/straw coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, pine , tropical fruit aroma. Tastes similar, hoppy, pine, tropical fruit, citrus fruit with a pleasant bitterness. Very good IPA.

330 ml bottle - pours light yellow with a thin fizzy head. Intesne peach aroma, grapefruit, mandarine/tangerine and citrus peel with hints of grass & pine. Immediate hop attack in the body’s bitterness, a bit harsh and perhaps not too balanced, but ending in extreme and looong bitternes. Perhaps a bit overdone for a real west-coast IPA but quality is undisputable.

Ipa di grado importante, per serate agguerrite. Amaro intenso ma piuttosto erbaceo, note citriche molto stuzzicanti. Non eccelle, ma appaga il palato.

Bottle to tulip at home, batch 284. Pours golden with small head, which reduces to none in two minutes. Carbonation can be seen, as bubbles work their way up. Intense and beautiful aroma of tropical fruits, mango and pine. Flavour seems sweet, fruity at first, then quickly comes down to intense and bitter grapefruit. Medium body, lively carbomated with long, herbal finish. Great beer overall, the smell is incredible, but appearance isn’t shockingly good.
