COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ruthless India Pale Ale

Start with a colossal grapefruit aroma. Pile on bitterness after thumping bitterness, and ride the anarchy wherever it takes you. The caramel razor is sharp, but the resinous bite drills straight through your taste buds.

For blitzing the mediocre, raising hell and revelling in the aftermath, Jack Hammer is the end of the line. The hopped-up, pucker-mouthed terminal extreme of craft brewing. This beer is bitter. Very bitter. If you push that button, don’t say we didn’t warn you…

On tap @ brewdog Birmingham. Probably my favourite brewdog beer, possibly! Tropical power hits the ode straight away, big big bitter hit on he gob followed by some really nice fruits and a bit of toasted sugar too. This is one tasty beer. Went down well with my toasted cheese sarnie, which by the way was also awesome. Great sarnie, great beer, what’s not to like!! Good times.

From the can. Appearance is golden, slightly cloudy with a small head that quickly dissipates. Aroma very citrus, grapefruit with a hint of oranges. Taste coppery, typical IPA, but not unpleasant or overbearing. All in all not bad, but not one of the best.

Appearance: Sort of an orangey yellow, quite cloudy, almost looks like a wheat beer. Aroma: Grapefruit, citrus, mango\lychee, grass\green aromas, and some sort of biscuity caramel. Taste: A bitter green grassy aftertaste. Some slight malty caramel flavours, the grapefruit is present.

Can 330ml. Yellow straw with a white head settling with plenty of lacing. Aroma has the resin of a whole pine forest. Medium carbonation. Taste opens with bitter citrus and grassy notes. Some caramel and alcohol sweetness. Then, all the hoppy bitterness kicks in aplenty. If you like hop drink, this is it.

Butelka 0,33l. Delikatnie mętne, złociste, niezbyt obfita piana, ale ładnie zdobi szkło. Aromat niezbyt przyjemny, chmiel i skarpety. W smaku przyjemnie, chmielowo, goryczka umiarkowana, głównie grejpfrutowa. Nasycenie średnie.

Pours hazy dark gold. Pleasant aromas of grapefruit and hops. An ok beer, my least favourite of the brewdogs I have consumed so far. The taste is boozy and bitter.

I profoundly disagree that there’s any caramel at all on this flavour. Nice and bitter, yes, that grass is razor-sharp. Unripe grapefruit. The aroma is wonderful, with a load of grapefruit and maracuja. Very watery, not as resinous as I would prefer, and that yellow colour is just too pissy - well, after an effervescent tablet of Redoxon. Not a bad beer, but too desperate to be hoppy bitter, forgetting to be a great beer.
