The devastatingly bitter finish will drill straight through your taste buds. If you like hops and bitterness then go ahead. But be warned: this beer has more bitterness than a human palate (or nipple) can detect. For freaks, craft beer junkies and stamp collectors only.

The second placed beer in our 2012 Prototype Challenge is a BrewDog staff favourite, and made a brief guest appearance in our bars last summer.

Bottle from mane liquor. Pours a very clear light orange with a sticky white head. Nose shows grapefruit, citrus and pine. A very approachable IPA. Taste is mainly grapefruit and pine notes, fair whack of bitterness there too. Solid beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, from Tesco, Kirkwall. Faintly hazy gold, thin short lived white head and gentle condition. Big citrus and fruity nose with hints of grapefruit and pineapple, lots of hop resin and a little malty sweetness. In the mouth it is restrained hop bitterness with more fruitiness, citrus and a little pine resin, finish is long and bitter but never excessively so

Drinked @ Simplonpass 2000m. Amber color with big creamy head. Nice maris otter malt aroma and big citrus, resin and floral aroma. At taste is medium bodied with malt caramel flavour and a light but pleasant bitterness in the end.

On tap. Nice citra aroma in first smell. Strong and pleasant bitterness in the mouth. The first beer I have had on tap before bottle.

04-JUL-2014, draft @Brewdog, Camden Town, London. Almost clear golden with low White head. Aroma is grape fruit and pine. Taste is richer but still almost only grape fruit and pine. A Little sweet note reveas the malt but really a hop-driven beer.

A clear golden beer, small white head. Smell is familiar, floral, exotic fruits. Taste is bitter, grapefruit and I taste something sweet as well, hint of caramel. Taste is not very lasting. Not as good as other Brewdogs imo.

(Bottle). Scent of sweet tropical fruits, citrus and pine. Strong taste of hops with flavors of tropical fruits, grapefruit and some alcohol. The hops makes the taste rather hard and dry, with plenty flavor of grapefruit. Bitter finish.

Subdued aroma and a laid back initial flavour give way to a smooth sustained finish. Another winner from the folks at BrewDog.

8oz pour at brew dog Camden. Good aroma sweet. Citrus. Grapefruit orange apricot. Lightly hazed brownish Orange color. Ok head and lace. Bitter sweet flavor. Medium body. Oily creamy mouthfeel. Bitter dry finish. Good. Not unlike a lot of other big ipa’s. Tasting good after day at London zoo.
