3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hand bottle. It pours jet black, with a thin tan head. The nose is chocolate, subtle orange, varnish, salted liquorice and coffee. The taste is surprisingly bitter, roasted malt, ash, orange (but not overdone), dark chocolate and some lactose, with a long bitter finish. Medium-full body and average carbonation. I definitely get Jaffa cake, but thankfully this is not too sweet or sickly. A flavoursome and fun beer.
