COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled, occasional
Libertine Black Ale is a 7.2% wickedly decadent black beast of a beer that has been hammered with the epic Simcoe hop. With a drinkability that defies its colour and depth of flavour, Libertine delivers a dark hop bomb combining the west coast hop awesomeness of an IPA, the dark and indulgent malt flavours of big stout with a lightness on the palate that bellies the punch that this beer packs. Bags of flavour and loads of hops. We intend to bottle some of this batch for those not lucky enough to make it to a BrewDog Bar to try it. ABV from 7% to 7.2%.

[Draught at The Craft Brasserie & Grill] Pours black with an average size diminishing bubbly tan head. No lacing. Big aroma with lots of leafy hops and coffee along with roasted malt and a touch of alcohol. Flavour follows the aroma but is not as big -- still quite nice. Medium bodied. Very good, there are lots of Black IPAs I don’t care for, but this isn’t one of them.

Appearance: Very dark brown, with good amount of tan head.
Aroma: Mostly hops, slightly roasted.
Taste: Quite a lot of hops, providing lingering bitterness. Some malt and roasted. Nice.

Black as the name implies. Just the right amount of hops for a good flavor. The higher alcohol percentage doesn’t hurt either.
