Bottled, occasional
Libertine Black Ale is a 7.2% wickedly decadent black beast of a beer that has been hammered with the epic Simcoe hop. With a drinkability that defies its colour and depth of flavour, Libertine delivers a dark hop bomb combining the west coast hop awesomeness of an IPA, the dark and indulgent malt flavours of big stout with a lightness on the palate that bellies the punch that this beer packs. Bags of flavour and loads of hops. We intend to bottle some of this batch for those not lucky enough to make it to a BrewDog Bar to try it. ABV from 7% to 7.2%.

Czarne z lekko beżową pianą, ładnie oblepiającą szkło. Zapachy cytrusów, kawy. W smaku chmiel, palone słody, kawowa kwaśność. Goryczka dobra.

Pours black with a slight tanned head. Pine hops on the nose, and a mild malt. Aroma of some coffee, dark malt roast, and some hops. Unique blend, this one.

Pours black; minimal, tan, quickly dissipating head - aroma of hops, some dark chocolate - medium bitterness - medium body, rather soft carbonation - bitter, hoppy finish.

Mostly aromas of chocolate and prune, with some pine. There is a lot to taste here, first the dry bitterness of a dark chocolate, complemented by the sourness of cherries and it finishes like a mild IPA with a nice bitterness. It’s not as smooth and creamy as a porter, making it even a quite refreshing beer. To be short; I love this.

Looks like a stout but has a bit of hops on the nose. Sense of chocolate and pine. Smooth taste of roasted malts, chocolate again and raisins. A bit of variety in this beer but beautifully put together. Special. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nose is pine and dank, flavour has lots of pine too with some nice dark malt character. Not overly hopped or anything, pretty tame for a black IPA so the "hammererd with the epic Simcoe" makes me cringe but then again has there been a BrewDog commercial description that hasn’t?

Mooie zwarte kleur met een volle lichtbruine kraag. Ruikt hop, bitter, orange, grapefruit, iets koffie. Goede bittere smaak, fruitig, citrus en drop.

AROMA: chocolate, floral, spruce, cheese, APPEARANCE: black, rocky head, brown foam, TASTE: light sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour, PALATE: medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, long finish, OVERALL: tries blend too many aromas that do not mix, floral and chocolate with an american sprucy hop. Yuck.
