3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
pours clear very dark brown with a nice creamy light beige head, good retention and lacing. chocolatey and roasted malts, bitter chocolate and burnt nuts, lightly sweet burnt caramel, coffee, resin, citrus, hint of maple, bit of dust, tobacco. moderate to low carbonation, light to medium body - oily, nice lightly piney-resinous finish, never harsh. good balance and good drinkability for stated abv, just a tad too sweet for my liking. still.. much enjoyed!

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Kadaka Selver in Tallinn, August 2014. Pours a deep brown; in the glass it’s absolute blackness - not a single lightbeam will penetrate this. Head is creamy beige, frothy, well retaining; dense lacing. Nose... an intoxicating yet subtle melange of the roasted malts and the pungent, musky Simcoe... I could sniff this for hours, and then some more. Taste is at first quite mellow in its citrus-dominated fruitiness, then building up the more bitter straightforwardness, finishing in a thin, roasty blanket, barely covering the precedent sweet and bitter notes. There’s also a certain chocolaty aspect to it. Near the end I sense a soothing alcoholic warmth there too. It’s got a surprisingly light body, and very soft carbonation. I’ve always loved this beer. Once when some guy accidentally pushed over my just bought glass of Libertine at Brewdog Shoreditch, I nearly cried...

Bottle. This is a really nice beer. Balanced is not a word often associated with Brewdog but this time they’ve hit the nail on the head!

Een bier met een heel uitgesproken smaak, maar spijtig genoeg niets voor mij.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
No date - bottle thanks to Brent, I believe. Black pour with a nice tan head and plenty of lacing. Hoppy aroma hits first, mild grapefruit, some pine, followed by light ashiness and cooked coffee. Decent meld of flavors, that fruity hoppiness mixed with a mild roasty bitterness. Not bad, but didn’t blow me away.

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A metallic pine aroma from a black body and a thin foamy white head, tastes of coffee and chocolate with a mild corriander coming in the aftertaste.
