Bottled, occasional
Libertine Black Ale is a 7.2% wickedly decadent black beast of a beer that has been hammered with the epic Simcoe hop. With a drinkability that defies its colour and depth of flavour, Libertine delivers a dark hop bomb combining the west coast hop awesomeness of an IPA, the dark and indulgent malt flavours of big stout with a lightness on the palate that bellies the punch that this beer packs. Bags of flavour and loads of hops. We intend to bottle some of this batch for those not lucky enough to make it to a BrewDog Bar to try it. ABV from 7% to 7.2%.

pours clear very dark brown with a nice creamy light beige head, good retention and lacing. chocolatey and roasted malts, bitter chocolate and burnt nuts, lightly sweet burnt caramel, coffee, resin, citrus, hint of maple, bit of dust, tobacco. moderate to low carbonation, light to medium body - oily, nice lightly piney-resinous finish, never harsh. good balance and good drinkability for stated abv, just a tad too sweet for my liking. still.. much enjoyed!

Pechschwarze Farbe mit einer bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Sehr hopfiges Aroma, die Malznoten werden da ein bisschen unterdrückt. Geschmack von Mokka. Nicht so meins.

Libertine Black Ale from The Party Source in Bellvue KY. This beer pours a dark black brown opaque with a light brown thin head of foam. Nose is a nice malt backbone with an overlay of decent hops. Taste is just a bit sweet over a nice malt cereal base. towards the end there is a bit of red wine/fruit. it’s quite interesting. Body is a bit lively and quite silky. a very nice beer.

33cl bottle. Opaque dark brown colour with a thin tan head. Chocolate, coffee, fruity hops and liquorice in the aroma. Average to low carbonation and medium creamy body. Taste is complex, multi-dimensional and more bitter than sweet. Overall, a delightful experience for the senses.

Bottle into tulip glass, opaque deep dark brown color with tan head. Aroma of coffee, cream, light chocolate and fruity hops. Taste adds notes of roast malt sweetness, grain, molasses, black coffee, light smoke and citrus/piney hop bitterness. Medium body, low-moderate carbonation, dry with roasty fruity bitter finish. Kind of a coffee’ish compared to other blacks IPA’s, pretty good.

Draft: Cloudy, rubied-brown with a creamy tan head. Creamy, coffee malt aroma. Taste is coffee/chocolate with grapefruit and orange peel bittering. Did I mention creamy? Very nice.......

I liked that it looked like stout but not as burned as stout. Leaves nice aftertaste in your mouth after which you could drink another one with ease.
