3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black with light beige head.
Aroma is hoppy, pine, citrus, some small malty sweetness, just a bit of sourness from roasted malt.
There is a medium bitterness and some malt backbone.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Dark brown. Fresh dry-hop character is full of simcoe goodness with light black malt character. Taste is less compelling...some strong citrusy fruitiness from the hops, a light acidity but it is fairly thin and has little dark malt character on the palate. One of the key style elements is minimized and there’s not enough IPA to make up for it.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Poors black, very black, with a good head. The nose has a lot of hop at first. On the taste the roasted malt and very dark chocolate dominate at first, followed by light hops and fruits.
Excellent black IPA, very drinkable.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very good black strongly hopped beer. Not as roasted as some black IPAs are, quite easy to drink, still well balanced, complex and enjoyable.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very drinkable pitch black ale with quite a long and bitter finish with a little fizz. I picked some caramel and roast + floral. Beige minimal top and oily texture.. for me one of the best ever really!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
33cl bottle at home. Pours black with off white head. Aroma is peach, tropical fruits and plenty of it. Flavour is sweet tropical fruit, bit of a earthy, creamy stout feel in the background. It’s light bodied with a slick, resin mouth feel. Alcohol really well integrated and full flavour. This is a very enjoyable beer.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Great black colour, with thin tan head. The aroma is pure west coast ipa, but the malt gives an initial creaminess and complexity to the flavour. Great beer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Great CDA. Perfectly balanced -- a bit of chocolate and roasty at the beginning with fresh, citrus strike of hops in the end. Smooth, full bodied.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap. Pitch black body, with a very light brown head that diminishes quickly, leaving a fair lace. Aroma of roasted malts, some caramel. Nice medium bitter taste, faint notes of coffee and chocolate. Average carbonation, medium boided, oily texture. Nice, but nothing to get crazy about.
