COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled, occasional
Libertine Black Ale is a 7.2% wickedly decadent black beast of a beer that has been hammered with the epic Simcoe hop. With a drinkability that defies its colour and depth of flavour, Libertine delivers a dark hop bomb combining the west coast hop awesomeness of an IPA, the dark and indulgent malt flavours of big stout with a lightness on the palate that bellies the punch that this beer packs. Bags of flavour and loads of hops. We intend to bottle some of this batch for those not lucky enough to make it to a BrewDog Bar to try it. ABV from 7% to 7.2%.

Bottle from Slowbeer. Very good taste and balance; with spicy notes. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, coffee, spice, and liquorice. Taste is sweet and bitter, with long length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Dark brown, with a frothy head.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This black beer pours with a creamy white head. It has rich liquorice and blackcurrant flavours, a creamy mouthfeel and orange marmalade and slight pine and hints of roastedness on the finish. Superb!

Kita (1079) - Koper, SLOVENIA - DEC 19, 2013
Bottled, 0.33l. Cloudy almost black color with medium sized creamy, mostly diminishing light brown head and fair lacing. Aroma of fruity hops, mainly citrus and passionfruit, roasted malt and coffee. Taste starts with light sweet chocolate, follows by strong coffee and fresh fruity notes, mouthfeel of spicy malt, while finish is moderate bitter with long aftertaste. Full body, oily texture and lively carbonation in palate. Excellent balance of roasted malt and fruity hops...

Wow! Rich, malty bitterness mixed with punchy and aromatic hoppiness. Part stout, part IPA - this really is something special!

Tap @ Brewdog Camden, small long lasting delicately creamy head, very dark opaque brown colour, aroma of fragrant mandarine and brown bread with some roasted malt notes in the back, flavour of dark chocolate and coal with a dark bread and a strong citrusy bitterness and a light sourness. Perfectly balanced and quite exquisite.
