Brewed for the Lichtenstein exhibition at the Tate modern in 2013 l
We all got understandably pretty excited when the awe inspiring TATE Modern asked if we wanted to work with them to brew a special beer to mark the launch of the upcoming Lichtenstein exhibition there. Damn right we wanted to. The result being this awesome 5.2% pale ale. The label features original Lichtenstein artwork and is quite possibly the coolest beer label on the planet.

Bottle. Pours a deep slightly hazy orange body with a small white head. Aroma is peaches, parsley, grass, hints of rosewater and pale malts. Pleasant. Taste is citric peel, pine, grass, peaches, hints of red fruits and nettles. Moderate bitter aftertaste, medium body and high carbonation. A nice and refreshing APA.

Bottle from a friend (BD-shop). Very fruity smell, peaches and candy, sweet. Similar taste. Fresh and fruity with a light bitterness. Nice and clean. Very easy to drink, perfect summer beer.

A bottle I got through Rakuten, this beer is made using Rye, Centennial & Cascade. As Roy Lichtenstein is one of my favorite artists when I heard the Tate Modern was releasing a collaboration beer with Brewdog for their exhibit I knew I wanted to try it. Luckily Whisk-E came through and brought it to Japan! It pours an orange gold with an aroma of tropical fruits & spices. That spicy aroma comes from rye, the flavor is of a clean hop bitter pine with a light carbonation, with a decent body. Good stuff, a solid pale ale.

Bottle at home; Amber in colour. Good white head. Aromas include hops, pineapple and citrus. Taste also have hints of tropical fruits, but the bitterness of the hops used here overpowers it somewhat. A decent APA, nothing more, nothing less.

Colour is yellow to orange with a fair amount of head. Really nice fruity and floral hops aroma typical to a BrewDog beer. Other than that it’s nothing but another APA with a rather thin body and bitter hops. Pretty expensive for a this basic beer.

Keg @ The White Horse On Parsons Green. Light gold color, slight hazy. Medium white head. The nose is sugar cookie, light citrus. Summery fruit tart. Mellow inviting sweetness. Simple flavors. More citrus, a bit or apricot. Slightly chalky body. Very crisp palate, effervescent carbonation. Overall, a pleasant beer. A good, easy summer drinker.

Golden/amber pour. Small layer of white bubbles with just a bit of lacing. Smells of lemon and malt. Malty taste with some citrus. A little bitter in the back. Nice beer.
