March 2012 with good friends at home. No 100% convinced by the taste from the rum casks.

Bottle shared with Adam in NH. Pours clear, red-brown with a small, beige cream head. Bready dark malt nose with caramel and other sugars, some ripe fruits, berries. Big sweet flavor with ripe and darkened fruits, raisins, rich bread, rummy fruits, berries. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Hot finish with berries, straight alcohol, caramel. Big and a bit boozy. Balance is all there.

33 cl bottle @ O’Hara’s Freehouse. Batch #176, bottled 05.11.2011
Aroma has vanilla, raisins and alcohol. Also some sweet malt with caramel and woody notes. Flavour is sweet with raisins, some stinging alcohol, wood and caramel. Looks, smells and tastes like a barley wine.Alcohol is clearly present here but it doesn’t disturb much even though this feels a bit thin. A very slow sipper like LA Deliverance or Angel’s Share.

olio (5951) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 5, 2013
33 cl bottle @ O’hara’s Freehouse, Tampere. batch #176. Bottled on 05.12.2011.
Pours hazy red color with a small head. Aroma of raisins, toffee, caramel malts, some yeast and wood. Mild rum also. Flavour of sweet ripe fruits, toffee, caramel malts, faint vanilla and wood. Soft carbonation with mild sourish palate. More like an barley wine or american strong ale than an porter. Very nice sip beer anyways.

Birra di colore scuro, note aromatiche e speziate al naso. Sentori caramellati e cioccolatosi con un corpo ed un equilibrio quasi perfetto. Birra da degustare a piccoli sorsi ma di ottima fattura. ---Rated BY Italianbeer85

Very dark, champagne like head. Rich, smokey, bombfire toffee with a slight rum finish. Amazing beer but BrewDog’s Paradox range is better.

Unica! Colore scuro, impenetrabile;schiuma leggera chiara e poco comppatta; note aromatiche molto evidenti con una lunga persistenza delle stesse; struttura complessa con i sentori di rhum che la fanno da padroni!

Bottle (33cl). Clear, dark golden brown colour. Small offwhite head reducing to a ring with a small amount of lacing. Malty aroma with raisins, rum, oloroso sherry, molasses, wood, caramel, hint of vinegar. Medium/full body, soft carbonation, oily mouthfeel. Sweet malty taste, balanced by a solid acidity (akin to dry sherry) and mild bitterness. Long, relatively dry aftertaste with rum and wood.
