We entrusted all the important decisions to our fans, customers and anyone who wanted to learn more about the craft brewing process and cast their vote. We gave up complete control of every single decision which shaped the final beer that the #MashTag project produced. #MashTag is a 7.5% American Brown Ale loaded with New Zealand hops and aged on Hazelnuts and Oak chips.

On tap at La Fine Mousse, Paris on 29th November 2013. Clear ruby-brown with lasting pale brown creamy foam, and full lacing. Rich roasty aroma with fruitcake and berries. Burst of rich roastiness in-mouth, along with hazelnut nuttiness. Cherry fruits, raisins harmonise with these flavours and black pepper notes tickle the rear-mouth. Finish is cherry fruit and hazelnut. Zingy yet bodiful, engaging texture. Beautifully crafted brown ale.

Half pint @ Brewdog Leeds. Brilliantly full tasting brown ale with dusty chocolate flavours and very mild hazelnuts coming through. Couldn’t help taking big gulps so I could relish the taste even more. Another great Brewdog beer.

Bottle, Bangor. Having contributed to the crowd-sourcing which resulted in this beer this is a great effort from Brewdog. Darker in appearance than I expected. Nuts and woody notes on the palate. A good special beer

Dark brown to black with big head, lasts quite long and leaves lacing. Scent offers oak, roasted malts and some hazelnuts. Strong roasted flavor, pine and grass coming from the hops and a little bit of strong coffee. At the end roasted malts, oak and hazelnuts makes quite an unique combination, I like it. Soft mouth feel. Brewdog turns these wild ideas into very enjoyable beers time after time.

33 cl. bottle sampled @ GBF 2013. Blackish brown with a small mocha head. Nose is full of delicious sweet hazelnut with cocoa, chocolate milk, touch caramel. Taste is chocolate milk with sweet hazelnut everywhere, cocoa, chocolate cornflakes, sweet cheaper chocolate, hint oak. Very milk chocolate-like body. Stupid concept & gimmick, great beer. Thx! to the RB Crew for sharing.

Not normally my style of beer but this is definitely a good one - thanks for the hops. A strong sweet malty body tasting of caramel, biscuit, chocolate and hazelnut smoothed out with a fresh counter of nelson sauvin.
