COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A collaboration brew between BrewDog and Mikkeller. This different vintage was brewed in 2009 with a 1/3rd of the beer being aged in a speyside whisky cask before being blended back with the base beer in 2010. The result is a 13.8% barley wine.
NOTE: This is a different recipe to the previous batch and is clearly labelled as Devine Rebel 2010. If the bottle does not say 2010, the rating should go under the first batch.

33cl bottle. Brewed 2010. Best before 2015-02-11. Brown ruby red colour with no head. Aroma is alcohol and oak with notes of malts. Some sweet notes as well. Flavour is rough and laden with alcohol. Also notes of malts and oak. Also notes of ripe fruits. Long, lingering aftertaste.

Bottle at Craig’s tasting. Piney, bitter, dry, bit harsh, too sweet, needs longer in the bottle.

Light pale nose. More active than its sister beer. Some syrup. Tamer and nice but could do with more definition and individuality.

330ml bottle, cheers Craig. Pours hazy reddish brown, no head. Aromas are sherry and Christmas cake. Taste is more of the same, light boozy whisky note. Much smoother than the earlier version, nice.

Bottle, thanks Craig. Nice mahogany red with off white head. Aroma of sherry, dried fruits. Taste is oxidised in a nice way, sherry and dried fruits. Quite sweet and bitter. Nice

33 cl bottle Amber copper, small to no head. Nose is extremely sweet with caramel and tropical notes. Full body, oily texture. No carbonation. Red fruits, caramel and toffee, marmelade, tropical fruity hints, brown sugar...wow!

Lots of bourbon. Very boozy. Lots of oak smell, too. Eventually flavors of coffee and pepper come out. This stuff is really heavy and kind of tedious...

Scopey (6321) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 28, 2014
Bottle originally from BrewDog online. BrewDog rating #200. It pours deep ruby with a rapidly diminishing yellow head. The nose is quite savoury, wood, earth, brown bread, spice, tart fruit skin, date, fig, berry, faint jam. The taste is plum skin, date, red grape, fig, faint fruity tartness, toffee, wood, varnish, resin, alcohol warmth, spice and some medicinal whisky notes with a dry, bitter finish. Full body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Good depth of flavour and well balanced. The fine carbonation lifts it and makes it rather drinkable also. Tasty.

Cellared bottle. Pours murky brown with no head. Aroma is slightly over-ripened stone fruit (very specific, I know). Taste is oxidized a bit, sweet....I taste plum, Sticky sweet and slightly cloying. Kind of a mess but this may have been improperly stored. I will try another to make a better assessment.
