3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy golden orange pour with medium sized off white head. Aroma of fruits, citrus, malts, caramel and hops. Taste of pineapple, orange, grapefruit, caramel, malts, slight citrus and just the right amount of hops to balance this perfectly. Full bodied, perfect carbonation, very good beer!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330 ml bottle at home - taken from notes (26/11/2010) - pours clear intense orange with a great firm head. Intense fruity nose of pineapple and sweet oranges. Full body with good malty basis, taste is more of that fantastic bitter fruitiness. Very nice beer!

3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A less than pleasing aroma with a milky, almost apple cider appearance. Decent taste for a mixture of these two brews. Caramel pallet.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle. Pours a murky burnt orange color, with a two finger off white head, with good retention. Citrus aromas with a lot of grapefruit and pineapple mixed with some piney sap. Taste is well balanced. Citrus dominates the front of the palate. A malty carmely sweetness in the middle. Has a resinous bitter pine finish. No alcohol pressence at all, for 9.5%. Medium carbonation, pretty thick, almost chewy.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark amber, almost auburn, with around 2 fingers of righteous frothy head.
Nose: Dem hops! Truckloads of pine, juniper and every other resin rich tree I can think of. Works like a warning sign – abandon all yer hope for something cute and cuddly. That one is going to be haaardcooore. Smell is excellent, hands down.
Taste: Strong bitter, hoppy core, wrapped up in caramelized sugars. Very interesting balance of sugary vs. bitter, which reminds me a bit of sweet aperitifs.
Resinous notes provide an additional layer of taste. Alcohol just cannot cut through the taste that dense. Obviously, a dry and lingering finish.
Not an easy drink, and not something that I will want to drink on a daily basis. Still worth trying, especially if you are into double/impy IPAs.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330ml bottle from Brewdog Shoreditch. Very strong, resinous taste, sickly sweet with vicious pine, caramel and alcohol coming through. Never tried I Beat You but the Hardcore IPA is definitely a lot better on its own. Gotta admire these guys for experimenting but this really doesn’t work too well.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
