Bottled. Poured hazy medium orange with a cream cap of khaki head.. it looked totally different in the glass than while I was pouring.. anyways, looked quite good. The aroma picked up what I’ve needed, but haven’t smelled in a while.. juicy, resiny pine, citrus, and floral hoppage first and foremost.. softer caramel and honeyed sweetness backing.. hop-forward, but well-balanced. The flavor found biscuits and bready sweetness at the core.. sharper bitterness on the edges, in roughly the same proportions as the nose.. black pepper and some sourness joined on the warm finish.. not bad, but not quite what I wanted after that aroma. Medium-bodied with lots of residual sugars on the palate.. bitter, but it held its balance.. overall a very good brew.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
In short: A very fruity, very doughy/yeasty and very bitter IPA. Tasty brew.
How: Bottle 330ml, consumed when at most 4 months old (4 months after first rating). Bottle dropped at my place by dand645, thanks a lot Dan
The look: Cloudy amber body topped by a medium off-white head with medium retention
In long: The all-hops nose is mainly grapefruity with light notes of peaches and apricots. In mouth the beer is very yeasty and with a lot of bread dough. But mostly this is a fruity IPA, fruity at large with pineapples, apricots, grapefruits, mangos, and more…. As usual for an Europeanized American IPA, my north-american palate found the beer too yeasty and not clean and crisp enough for the style. Europeans like yeasty Double IPAs, or so it seems. That diminishes drinkability imho. Judging by the aroma and overall feeling of hop-juice I’d say that this beer was dried-hopped to death. The bitterness level on this one is quite high, rarely does a hop-juice IPA like this manages to be so bitter. Overall I liked it a lot. And the beer is indeed pretty hardcore. And so in an avocado… badoom tsss!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark, murky copper color with a medium head. Well now don’t that smell like a shit ton of hops! Powerful fruit, citrus and some pine aromas. A bit of caramel or honey sweetness underneath. Some strong musky, piney flavors. Moderately bitter. Thick malt flavor and palate. Alcohol well hidden. Personally I’d go for more hop flavor, but this is pretty damn good.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: AUG 14, 2011 Pours clear ruby mahogany with small bubbly tanned head leaving some lacing. Aroma is hoppy, cat bin, prunes, caramel and malts. Lean velvety mouthfeel. Flavor is first slightly sweet and fruity, nice balanced hoppy bitterness, fidges, malty and then some salty tones. Very nice. Fruity malty palate. Finishes with a very pleasant round slightly fruity sweet and longlived hoppy aftertaste.

Kan det bli för mycket av det goda. Söt och humlig. Doft av friterad lök och rått kött. Tar vid i smakerna men mer åt humlejuice. Häftig men god. Tja?

330 ml bottle @ Patricks. Deep red body with a diminishing big off-white head. Delicious aroma of different citric fruit, pine, malt and caramel, really complex and wonderful. Flavor is sweet but balanced malty, some caramel, strong citric fruit, pine and really bitter. Soft, sweet maltflavor and almost a bit rough bitterness makes a lovely combo and becomes rally nice integrated with fruit and a little hint of warming alcohol. Aftertaste is almost like forever with caramel, fruit and bitterness. Very well made.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
medium orange with large white head. nose of herbal and citrus hops with touches of alcohol and malt. firm bitterness before a solid herbal and citrus hop flavor with a touch of munich or low crystal malt with alcohol providing nice depth. english esters are definitely strongly present. the residual sweetness in this is quite low for the style resulting in a very drinkable brew. overall it is a very well crafted double ipa, that even though aged longer than desired it is a great example that would likely be a classic example if fresh

A nice blend of two IPAs. I wish this came in a 22 instead of a 12, it was pretty solid.
