COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: I Hardcore You is a 9.5% Imperial India Pale Ale, an international collaborative effort between 2 of Europe’s most rock ’n roll brewers. This beer is a blend of BrewDog’s Hardcore IPA and Mikkeller’s I Beat You. After the blending, the beer was then dry hopped a further twice. Making I Hardcore You a beer which has been dry hopped four times, or maybe even six times. We kinda lost count.

Clear medium amber with a thick creamy, somewhat lasting, off-white, full lacy head. Smells of malt and caramel with lots of hops and citrus hops (orange and grapefruit). Medium to fill oily smooth body with soft carbonation. Tastes of pine that lingers. Sweet caramel, ripe fruit and lots of citrus grapefruit orange peel. The finish is dry grassy and hoppy. More herbal than expected. Complex and yummy.

(On tap at Mikkeller Bar Stockholm, Oct 13 2014) Pours a clear copper with a tiny white lacy head. Huge hoppy nose of tangerine, mango, passion fruit and a bit of pineapple and resin along with caramel malt sweetness. On the palate, sweet and fruity with a big caramel malt backbone that is overlaid with piles of hops. Candied orange, peach, mango, white grape and others, tough to pick out. Towards the middle there’s a bit more resin from the hops as well, and then a moderate bitterness that appears in the finish. Basically no alcohol heat. This is one of the sweetest DIPAs that I’ve had and I can see how it might put some off. I like the fruit character of the hops though. Decent grip of bitterness in the back end does not dry it but does balance it a bit. Maybe better in small servings, but great stuff.

Beautiful dark gold colour with thick head. Strong aroma hoppy aroma with belgian malt and fruit flavors. Flavor is an intense blend of pine, citrus, and fruity malt flavors. Initital taste was a liquid orgasm in my mouth. Medium mouth feel with assertive bitterness and light carbonation, but is still easy to drink. Did not expect that at all, good collaboration.

Bottle. This is a collaboration between two great brewers. Two heavy tasting ipa's and even more hop's added. Heavy taste drinking. Would recommend, just not more than one ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Initial pungent nose leads to balanced, medium bodied DIPA. In a typical European IPA manner, this amber colored ale has an underlying boozy sweetness, reminiscent of peach cake. Distinct fruitiness forces itself upon the intense bitterness. One downside was a lack of carbonation.

Explosion of tastes, bitternes set just right... Rum cake, honey, peach... I love it. If you have bitternes tolerance you would take the most out of this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dredd (700) - Bentleigh, AUSTRALIA - OCT 16, 2014
Pour is hazy with thin white head. Aroma is a mix of tropical fruits & caramel. This transitions in to the palate with a burst of initial flavours of sweet sugar and some pineapple that finishes with a very sickening sweet mid palate that has a bit of hope bitterness mixed with burnt sugar. This was not the magical brew pairing I was expecting and hoped for sadly.Unbalanced and unpleasant.

Bottle from my ex-colleagues. Thanks a lot! Pours cloudy golden to amber with nice fluffy white head. Aroma is lots of hops, grass, citrus fruits, pineapple, caramel, malt, herbs. Taste is bitter but also quite sweet with hops, pineapple, citrus fruits, lots of malt, caramel. Lovely.

September 7, 2014. Bottle, best before July 25, 2014. Pours clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is caramel, pine, citrus, apricots. Taste is medium sweet, resin, caramel with a medium grassy pine bitterness. Dry grassy lasting bitter finish with caramel in the background. Medium bodied, average carbonation.

Bottle, near bb date. Pours hazy orange with a white head. Aroma: citrus, tropical fruit, malts. Taste folllows, with very dominant malty sweetness and a pretty harsh bitterness. Not sure if it?s the age of the bottle, but I expected way more. Too malty, too sweet, not enough hoppy fruityness. Still very drinkable though.

Aroma of malt, caramel, tropical fruits, pine, grapefruit, orange peel, hops. Flavour is malty and fruity, rather sweet, with a bitter finish. Body is full, mouthfeel is sticky. Good collaboration. I found the Brewdog malty sweetness aspect to be definitely dominant, but I like this a little bit better than the Hardcore IPA so I’ll thank Mikkeller for that.
