This is a definite step down from I Beat yoU for me. It’s not bad, but there’s too much crystal malt flavor and the hopping just doesn’t seem quite right. The beer is nearly burnt umber in color with a thin but lasting ecru head. The aroma is caramel with sticky hops. It has that hop candy smell that is both good and bad. Surprisingly, the taste is rather mild, and I was left wondering what happened to the early hop additions. Some pine needle bitterness pokes its head out in the finish, but it’s too little, too late for me. Mouthfeel should be fuller for a big malty DIPA like this. I’m not exactly disappointed, as I went into it with a not altogether positive feeling for normal Hardcore and I don’t find the beer distasteful or anything. It’s just a ho-hum, crystal malt-forward DIPA. I imagine if it came from a random East Coast brewery, no one would pay it any mind (and it probably wouldn’t sell with the same price tag).

Intensive hoppy aroma, mostly pineapple. Small quickly disappearing head. Dark orange body. Very surprising intensive sweetness combined with very intensive hoppy bitterness. Long bitter aftertaste, but for the first time I can feel sweetness in aftertaste too. WOW.

Considering this is a mixture of two different IPAs & been hopped 4+ times, it is surprisingly well balanced (well maybe not surprising when you consider the brewers involved). A lovely copper colour that bring a caramel taste initially followed by all those hops. A special beer that I hope becomes a regular brew.

Ontap @ ALEhouse Awesome brew. Very smooth, malty, caramel, intense hoppy, fruity, mostly grapefruit, pine. Very nicely balanced sweetness with awesome bitterness.. Nothing too much, nothing too little. Kinda oily. Superb balanced. Pleasure to drink

Keg at Brewdog Aberdeen - Probably one of the smoothest Imperial IPA’s I’ve had. Actually prefer the blend of Hardcore & I Beat You than I do the individual beers themselves. Whatever they have done to make this, it works really well and is a very balanced beer.

Keg at BrewDog Glasgow. Keg. I really enjoyed this beer and it was a treat to find it on tap... a lovely sweet wet hop beer with a sharp and grainy finish. Great stuff!

Wow. What’s a double imperial? Plenty of hops, the smooth maltiness that’s common in mikkeller IPAs and the sweet pine (I even get pineapple) citrus of hardcore. Potent stuff!

On tap at BrewDog Glasgow. Brilliant IIPA. Intense hop aroma and flavor, barely offset by some mild sweet caramalts. Get some!

Imperail ipa davvero buona. Corpo medio-denso e colore scuro.

Indeed it is Imperial IPA, wonderfull blend of malt and hops compounds, hops intensity from Hardcore is mixed with malt mildness and fullness making indeed enjoyable IIPA experience. I felt some caramel-berries thin touch also in flavor. Pours intense copper, clear with beige top. One more please.
