COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
keg and bottled, special
An epic fusion of age old Belgian tradition, American new wave brewing and the world of Scotch whisky.
Mix Tape 8 is a blend of two huge oak aged beers – half a hopped up Belgian Tripel, and half a Triple India Pale Ale. These beers have both been aged in single grain whisky barrels for close to two years and finally blended to create a beer that our head brewer Stewart Bowman can most helpfully describe as ‘fucking complex’.
Mix Tape 8 is a high octane blend of styles, influences and processes. This beer is a blend of 2 huge oak aged India Pale Ales. Half of this beer is rooted in an amped up, hopped up Belgian Tripel which has been aged in Scotch Whisky casks for almost 2 years. The other half of the equation is a triple India Pale Ale which has also been aged in Scotch Whisky barrels for close to 2 years. This beer is inspired by the Belgian Monastic brewing tradition and its centuries of heritage, the hopped up American new wave craft brewing and everything that rocks about Scotch Whisky barrels and oak aging.

Bottled. pours clear, eep golden with a small off-white head. Aroma of toasted caramel wood and spicy notes. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry, bitter and with alcohol. Medium to full bodied, oily texture and soft carb. An excellent Strong Ale.

Draught@Brewdog Bar, Stockholm. Reddish copper color, off-white head. Intricate aroma: oak and vanilla, but also sweet caramel, hints of chocolate and much more. Silky smooth flavor that follows the aroma and lingers with a sweet finish. Would pair wonderfully with vanilla ice cream and is a remarkable dessert on its own.

Flot mahogni rødbrun øl med blød og afrundet smag, hvor fadlageringen tydeligt smages. Eftersmag med toner af karamel, hvor alkoholen er baggrunden [APK: 5.37]

Bottle at home. The colour is clear dark amber to nut brown, and with a small, off-white head. Aroma of oak, leather, brown sugar, port, caramel and alcohol. The flavour is similar with a good dose of sweetness and brown sugar and caramel. Has a rich mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A powerful beer, pretty sweet, but not as complex as expected.

Butelka 33cl. OCZY : śliczne piwo. Przejrzyste w odcieniach brązu i czerwieni. Ma małą piane o kolorze jasnego beżu. NOS : Piwo na pierwszy rzut pachnie mocno alkoholem podobnym do whisky albo starego porto. Ale to tylko pierwsza warstwa. Jest ich sporo. Można wyczuć aromaty karmelowe, wiśni w kompocie, tarty, soku jabłkowego, gałki muszkatowej, białej czekolady, paszy dla świń etc...etc. USTA : piwo jest oleiste i słabo gazowane. Mocne w smaku. Dominuje słodycz karmelowa i alkohol. Lekko kwaśnawe z nutami gotowanych owoców i drewna.

Bottle from systembolaget enjoyed at home. Pours light amber/ orange color with almost noe head. Smell reminds me of sink the bismark witch i didnt like that much. Less boozy offcourse. :p Taste is suprising vs the smell. Much more mild and body in the taste. Caramel, raisins, sherry, wood, oak. With some boozy but not unplesant aftertaste. Complex as hell! I’m gussing you get different experience everytime you drink this beer.
