3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 10, 2013
33 cl bottle @ William K Kurvi.
Aroma has alcohol, lots of raisins, some glue and sweet, heavy malt typical to American strong ales. Flavour has alcohol, woody notes, fruity and heavy malt, some caramel and toffee. Boozy but warming. Tastes like a typical American strong ale, the scotch is well hidden.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours dark amber with very little head. Honey, raisins, bubblegum, smoke and alcohol aroma. Palate is syrupy and thick. Taste is very complex with raisins and sweet caramel body throughout. Boozy from start to finish but in a good way.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
beautiful dark amber color with hardly any head. Deep smell of sweetness and hops, dark fruits, very complex. Complex sweetness on the tongue (very sweet), probably due to the cask influence. Barleywine feeling in the palate. Alcohol is very noticeable from start to finish. No bitterness (probably also due to the cask influence). Great for a special occasion.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Bottle park, Bratislava. Dark amber color with minimal white head. Aroma of whiskey, malt, fruits, caramel. Very sweet taste with caramel, malt, dried fruits, candied orange zest, vanilla, oak, alcohol - whiskey. Full bodied beer. Sweet strong alcoholic finish. Very tasty sipper, I liked it a lot. Perfect birthday drink.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Almost whisky looking, golden brown, almost no head. There is a fantastic whiff of vanilla, cocoa, whisky, some slight toffee, wet cardboard. Taste is medium to heavy sweet but very well balanced with oak, burn and a slight hop bite. Full bodied, slick texture, soft carbonation. Long hot finish. Awesome

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 18, 2014 Bottle, OP. Dark ruby body with low head. Aroma is complex at first sniff, has a lot of barrel wood, light ash, dark fruits, evident alcohol too, berries, ripped cherries, wood is pretty strong in there, but very complex, whiskey sweet background, very light smoke ending, prunes, light vanilla touch. Taste has high barrel sweetness, bitterness is long lasting but low, dark fruity sweetness. Body is full, oily texture, medium to low carbonation. Extremely complex, I just love barrel aged beers. #cellar

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks to jercraigs and Mabel for this one. Amber-brown pour. The nose is lovely. Pine and a bit of sweet brown sugar along with a touch of fruit. Rich and hoppy with a nice softly resiny character. Date and plum along with the hoppiness. Pretty lovely brew really. It’s got a nice bit of malt character.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2014-07-23. Crisp dark amber body with a small frothy beige head. 3+ Aroma is sweet, light tea like accents, muted fruit notes. Flavour is quite sweet, sugary and sort of fruity throughout, lightly bitter and alcoholic in the finish, lingering sweet sugary malt in the aftertaste. Pleasant, the alcohol is surprisingly restrained considering. Dangerously drinkable. Smooth average plus bodied palate, low to no carbonation. 3+ Pretty nice but I don’t love it. Bottle from either BrewDog or Valhalla’s Goat, Glasgow. I forget which.

Inte så överdrivet förälskad i denna. Nästan lite synd att jag har kvar en hemma. Någon som vill ha?
