This 5.2% complex yet unpretentious ale is our birthday salute to Moshi Moshi Records; at 15 years old they’re not old enough to drink it, but if they were, we know they’d love it as much as we do. A rich biscuity malt base takes the bassline, with the odd caramel pop and slap. Heavy hop riffs play on top; resinous resonance from the rhythm guitar, and the bitter notes we love so much on lead.
That’s enough of the musical metaphors. Stick a record on, sit back, and enjoy this beer.

Idiosynkrasie (3917) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - OCT 20, 2014
330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy amber colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Hoppy aroma samples its dominating sounds from the herbal, slightly soapy, menthol, eucalyptus, woodruff repertoire, citrusy, piney and resinous off-beats, caramel and biscuit malt bassline (exactly!). Taste plays the same melody, some more piney and citrusy accidentals, the re-mix is overall less hop dominated, you may notice some additional nuttily notes from a coy fiddler. Modern, aslant, disharmonious.

330ml bottle from Brewdog online shop. Pours clear golden orange, thin white head. Classic US hop aromas, orange, grapefruit, pine, light biscuit malt. Taste has a good bitterness with light caramel sweetness. Bitter orange peel finish, good.

larsga (6240) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 11, 2014
Medium offwhite head. Hazy reddish amber body with little particles. Spicy gooseberry aroma with mealy earthy notes. Dryish resiny chemical taste with spicy cardamom notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish resiny wooden gooseberry aftertaste with cardamom notes. Good, apart from the strange spicy stuff. (0.33l bottle, from Fish & Beer, Copenhagen.)

adster (424) - HUNGARY - SEP 30, 2014

Bottle at home from Brewdog online. Rich deep orange / red coloured pour with a lasting off white head. Aroma is initially grassy lemon citrus, then caramel and sweet resinous pine. Some soapy lemon aroma come out later. Flavour is biscuit malt with a touch of toast, hops are lemon cif, spicy pine needles and a bit of grassy in the finish. Palate is nice medium body with fluffy carbonationand a touch of resin on the tongue. Decent pale ale. Nice layering in the hops.
