330 ml bottle. From brewdog.com.
Dark brown almost black colour with a tiny tan head.
Soy, salt, malt and berries in the aroma.
The flavour is very strong with malt, mild alcohol, berries, red wine and some saltiness. Quite nice.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20 Brandman (1424) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 5, 2013
Really dark brown body, red hue, off white head. Aroma has robust ashy malt. Really salty. Flavour is sharp and salty dark roasted malts with red wine characteristics. Really complex taste, the depth is more that you get in first zip. Very nice red wine flavour.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 TimE (2584) - Tokyo, JAPAN - OCT 17, 2012
dark brown color. Light brown head. Treacle, burnt sugar, caramel, dark bitter chocolate. Awesome nose. Full bodied, mildly acidic, big nutty taste with dark chocolate also full on with a touch of miso. Alcohol well hidden. Bitter lingering finish.
4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 AshtonMcCobb (1440) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 16, 2012
33cl bottle. Pours a black olive colour with a nice sheen and a reasonable head. The nose has initially a green herby thing but then it opens out into a chocolate and nougat note, then strangely even strawberry jam. The taste has savoury green, then a Boost Bar, maybe with a green seaweed note with perhaps liquorice note at the end, even 2 minutes after it. The palate is rich and full bodied with a huge creamy texture and an elegant finish.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 crosamich (430) - Naples, Florida, USA - JUL 20, 2012
Whiskey aroma and finish. A residual sweetness. It is a little fuzzy so maybe I get that miso but can’t say that I definitely pick it up. Actually, I think i get it more in the finish now as I finish off this beer-has some bite to it; or is that the alcohol? OK, but a bit flat and slightly unbalanced.
3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 EdKing (1298) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 6, 2012
200ml in Good Beer Faucets, Shibuya. Very dark brown reddish at edges, off white small foam head. Nose is roasted malt, some dark fruit, and ale fruitiness with a bit of fortified wine. Taste is an old ale but it’s got a bit of a kick and too many flavours going on. There’s a distinctive port wine kick with ale fruitiness, raisins, prunes. A bit of liquorice in there too. This is very much a sipper and not too much to my liking. Also has a buttery margarine like aftertaste which ain’t too pleasant.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 BrotherLogic (252) - California, USA - NOV 11, 2011
Can’t decide if this is rank or quite nice. Certainly interesting but a big whack of alcohol which is quite off putting

Tap at Euston Tap. It pours very dark ruby, with a decent off-white head. The nose is roasted malt, dark fruit and chocolate. The taste is roasted malt, chocolate, meat, smoke, miso, caramel, salted liquorice, burnt tire, herbal and filter coffee, with a dry roasted finish. Full body, very high carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Flavoursome and quirky, but the balance isn’t quite there for me.
