COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
And this time it is all about the beer, and the beer is awesome! Gone are the 200+ IBUs which brought grown men to tears! Our new Nanny State is 0.5% ABV and focuses on being a great drink as opposed to a great publicity ploy. This beer is now focussed on getting all that is good about BrewDog into a practically alcohol free format. It is a West Coast inspired pale ale with a difference!

The beer has 45 IBUS and is brewed with centennial, amarillo, columbus, cascade and simcoe and intensively dry-hopped with centennial and amarillo. The backbone is provided by 8 different types of speciality malts with only 87 kilos of malt used in a 20HL batch (our Punk IPA uses 450 kilos in 20HL).

Appearance- pretty clear, bubbles at the bottom of the glass, dark amber, ruby tinge, small fizzy white head. Aroma- malty, hint of milky chocolate, choc covered raisins, fruity, toffee. Taste- a bit chocolatey, hop bitterness, some malt in the background, a bit of dark fruit and bitter orange, medium to thin mouthfeel, short finish which leaves a bit of bitterness. Interesting.

Clear copper-coloured beer with minimal head that disappears very quickly, giving it a quite unpleasant appearance. Smells fruity. Aromas of fruits and citrus hops are present, but are not that strong and disappear quickly. Fruity nose that is appealing, but which does not come back in its taste. Tastes far from fruity, mainly malty, slightly metalic and very watery. Quite thin, with a light body. Very heavy carbonated. Mildly bitter towards the end and in its aftertaste, which lasts quite long and which gives you lots of evidence of he present hops. Not that bad within its kind. Tastier than most of the low alcoholic beers though (Radler e.g). However, this kind of beer will never be my favorite.

To be a non-alcoholic beer, it is pretty good. But not to be a regular beer.

Bottle 33 cl. Amber color with frothy white brownish head. Notes of bread, caramel, chocolate, floral, citrus. Interesting and very nice beer for a low alcohol one.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker. Amber colour, thin layer of white foam, disappears quickly. Medium carbonation. Very hoppy aroma with notes of grapefruit and caramel. Thin body, watery. Not bad for 0.5% alcohol.

Bottle from K-supermarket at Kamppi, Helsinki (€ 4,89 - thefuck?!?) in August 2014. Batch 119. Pours a clear deep amber with an off-white well-retaining head that leaves some good lacing. Nose is at first quite modest. After having it warmed I get... still not much. It’s all very vague, with some mild caramelly-fruity-floral tones... Taste is malty with some straightforward hop bitterness coming in right after. I think it’s just robust and not at all enjoyable. Very thin body with a watery palate, soft carbonation and a bitterish finish, leaving the inside of the mouth dry. The most I’ve ever paid for the least... I feel like a cheat but I’m still giving it a 10 overall since it’s probably among the better ones in this ABV range...

A very special beer with low alcohol content, really a lot of hops but the beer has almost no body at all. Quite nice anyway.

Dark cooper color, large tan head. Very floral aroma lots of hops in the aroma. Hoppy beverage, piney bitter with lots of hops flavor. Not very malty, not sweet at all. It's not fair to compare this to Punk IPA or Stone IPA as it's a very if fervent beverage. It's definitely the best NA beer I have ever had. If it was available locally I would have this with lunch often. Please export to the US!

Koper kleurig bier. Met witte schuimkraag. Smaak hoppig en een beetje waterig. Smaak hoppig . Lekker bier met een lage alcoholpercentage . Gedronken met Bryan.

33 cl. bottle from Systembolaget. A beer brought at the Swedish Systembolaget called Nanny State - irony or total lack of humor? Oh, well. Clear amber colour with golden hues. Big, fluffy off-white head. Fruity aroma with citrus, resin, light toast, grapefruit and grasses. Taste is bitter. Light body with a thinner texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes lasting bone dry and bitter with citrus and exotic fruits. Excellent for a Low Alcohol. However, the bitterness and lack of sweetness from malts makes it hard to drink more than one bottle.
