And this time it is all about the beer, and the beer is awesome! Gone are the 200+ IBUs which brought grown men to tears! Our new Nanny State is 0.5% ABV and focuses on being a great drink as opposed to a great publicity ploy. This beer is now focussed on getting all that is good about BrewDog into a practically alcohol free format. It is a West Coast inspired pale ale with a difference!

The beer has 45 IBUS and is brewed with centennial, amarillo, columbus, cascade and simcoe and intensively dry-hopped with centennial and amarillo. The backbone is provided by 8 different types of speciality malts with only 87 kilos of malt used in a 20HL batch (our Punk IPA uses 450 kilos in 20HL).

old copper colour with a bubbly head and lively carbonation. Smells delicious: lichees, grapefruit and bitter hoppiness. Some zest too. Dry and watery with an extremely bitter resin finish! Dies quickly but leaves you a nice refreshing feel. Surprisingly good considering the low alcohol... first time I drink a low alcohol beer that not only tastes like beer but is actually quite good.

Disgusting watery beer with a nasty bitter after taste. Bordering of undrinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330 ml bottled. Dark amber color, light brown head. Aroma is amazing, some floral hops, fruits and caramel, hints of peach and apprricot. Fruity and bitter flavors but not good... To a low alcohol beer is ok, but I’ve got a little bit disappointed.

330 ml bottle from batch # 189. Pours a clear chestnut-orange body with a small, light brown head. Peach, apricot jam, light dried fruits, herbs, caramel and mango sherbert on the nose. Whoa! Light to medium body and a thin texture. Fruity and bitter flavors. Ends rather quick and abruptly though the tongue and palate remain dry and bitter. The best low alcohol beer I ever tried.

From a bottle. Pours dark amber with off white head. Aroma of fresh hops. Taste is all hops with a little metallic finish. Thin and bitter.

Bottle at home. Redbrown with a large beige head, nice lacings. Aroma light malty, heavy hoppy (citrus), druhopped. Flavor medium to heavy bitter, light spicy. Light body, watery, quite lively carbonated!

Clear light brown, rocky beige head. Strong piney, citric, and floral hop aroma, with some faint caramelly malt notes. Light body, medium carbonation. Bone dry, rough bitterness, the caramel malt brings just a little relief.

33 cl bottle @ home, rated on 05.06.2011
Dark orange colour, much more dark than I expected. Aroma is basically just hops and hops – just like one would sniff a load of hop cones. Flavour is a bit short with loads of hops with pine aroma. Watery palate. This could work great on a hot summer day.

Aroma: Chocolate, licorice and floral notes. Excellent aroma for a low alcohol beer.

Appearance: Amber brown in colour. Thick, beige head with good retention. A little carbonation.

Taste: Bitter, coffee-like taste. Despite what it says on the bottle, I found no citrus, orange or lychee flavours.

Palate: Watery mouthfeel. Very dry, unpleasant aftertaste.

Overall: By far the worst Brewdog beer I have tasted. Bordering on undrinkable.
