COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
And this time it is all about the beer, and the beer is awesome! Gone are the 200+ IBUs which brought grown men to tears! Our new Nanny State is 0.5% ABV and focuses on being a great drink as opposed to a great publicity ploy. This beer is now focussed on getting all that is good about BrewDog into a practically alcohol free format. It is a West Coast inspired pale ale with a difference!

The beer has 45 IBUS and is brewed with centennial, amarillo, columbus, cascade and simcoe and intensively dry-hopped with centennial and amarillo. The backbone is provided by 8 different types of speciality malts with only 87 kilos of malt used in a 20HL batch (our Punk IPA uses 450 kilos in 20HL).

Heavily hopped to make up for the lack of alcohol. Strangely fresh without the alcohol kick. A novelty beer not to be taken seriously. Rated by BrewTom

Clear red orange to amber beer, irregular light beige head, pretty stable, little adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, exotic fruits, pineapple, passion fruit, some sweet mango, piny, resinous, hint of toasted malts, citrus fruits. MF: ok carbon, light body. Taste: bitter start, citrus fruits, bit piny, grassy touch, very watery impression while drinking. Aftertaste: piny hops, pretty bitter, some grapefruit, hint of exotic fruits, soapy.

old rating, deprecated because beer was past it’s BB-date:

13/IX/13 - 33cl bottle from Biernavigatie (webshop, NL) @ home - BB: 28/V/13 (2013-844)

Ar: 8, Ap: 3, T: 6, P: 2, O: 12, Total: 3.1/5 Clear deep orange to red beer, irregular light beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet ripe fruits, bit sugary, raisins, caramel, citrus and grapefruit, brown sugar, toast, bit of banana. MF: ok carbon, light body. Taste: toast, little grassy, bitter hops, bit of citrus. Aftertaste: caramel, little sweet, very dry and bitter hops, citrus, grassy, little spicy, very bitter, almost medicinal ending. Very decent for a 0.5%! And fresh it’s probably even better, didn’t know my bottle was gonna be past it’s BBE when I bought it online (just last August).

Dark copper coloured beer with a nice permanent off-white head. The aroma is typical BrewDog hop overload, but it’s not very persistent. The taste is mostly watery with some bitterness. The mouthfeel is obviously very thin. There’s a slight dry bitter finish. Good for a low alcohol beer, but it’s on the edge where I’d rather just drink water.

Bottle. Pours clear amber. Aroma is grass and some bread. Taste is quite bitter. A bit watery, quite fizzy. Not bad for such a low alcohol beer.

Bottle. Pours a murky darker amber beer with a big, fluffy off white head on top. Aroma is great and hoppy, pines, grapefruit and grassy hops are all present. Almost like an IPA in the aroma. Flavor is medium bitter and has an earthy feel to it. Flavor is full, but the mouthfeel is a bit watery and the lack of alcohol is definitely noticeable. Yet a very nice, low alcohol beer.

Bottled. A hazy copper-red with a foamy off-white head. The usual Brew Dog nose of citrus and pine, but with a hint of honey sweetness. Looks and smells fantastic! The lack of alcohol makes this unsurprisingly thin, but it’s dry, hoppy, and refreshing, with a touch honey and citrus.

Brewdog. Nanny starte.

330ml bottle from K-Citymarket Sello, Espoo

BBE 30-04-14 - Pours dark reddish brown with a small bubbly head. Aroma of floral hops, exotic fruits, grass and berries. Taste is watery, juicy and hoppy with notes of berries and floral notes with some hints of tea and earthy notes. Finish is carbonated and watery. Feels like carbonated ice tea with loads of bitter hops. Wish it was more fruity and fresh.

Smak och doft av humle, gräs, örter, citrus med toner av tropisk frukt. Väldigt bitter, torr med konstiga bismaker. Ingen hit.
