And this time it is all about the beer, and the beer is awesome! Gone are the 200+ IBUs which brought grown men to tears! Our new Nanny State is 0.5% ABV and focuses on being a great drink as opposed to a great publicity ploy. This beer is now focussed on getting all that is good about BrewDog into a practically alcohol free format. It is a West Coast inspired pale ale with a difference!

The beer has 45 IBUS and is brewed with centennial, amarillo, columbus, cascade and simcoe and intensively dry-hopped with centennial and amarillo. The backbone is provided by 8 different types of speciality malts with only 87 kilos of malt used in a 20HL batch (our Punk IPA uses 450 kilos in 20HL).

metallic pine cone aroma, drunk straight from the bottle, strong bitterness in the mouth followed by some biscuit then a quick dry finish. not sure what to make of it, is it an excellent alternative to non alcoholic drinking or just somthing to make you want somthing better

My local Tesco doesn’t stock Punk IPA but stocks this! Bizarre! Anyway, pours a clear brown/amber colour, almost tea coloured, with a frothy white head. Aroma is very grassy hops, pine and grapefruit. Wasn’t sold on the taste of this one. Admirable effort given that there’s almost no alcohol there; piney hops, slight grapefruit, and slightly malty back to it, but it just tastes a little bland. Very watery mouthfeel, and decent enough lacing on the glass. Good effort to brew a low alcohol beer with at least SOME taste to it (Becks Blue, I’m looking squarely in your direction), but it just seems to fall a bit flat. A shame from an otherwise great brewer.

Great hop flavour for a non alcoholic beer, you can sense the malts as well. It is quite highly carbonated, but a great example of a beer tasting non alcoholic beer!

Very fruity and especially grassy hop (pineharshlike) aroma. Looks a bit like tea... Lot of bitter hop flavours, tickles on the tongue. Not much carbonation. Strong bitter and fruity aftertaste and some hints of malts. Due to the hops you dont miss the alcohol!

Bottle - deep red with a light brown head which lasts a while before gradually fading to a ring. Weak lacing. Aroma is loads of orange, lemon and mango with complementary grass and a little coriander seed. Taste is faintly grassy, a little pine - light bitterness. Watery body and medium carbonation. A great smelling beer let down by its taste, which is similar to that of soda water.

Fantastic color and overall apperance for a non alcoholic beer. Fresh hoppy aroma full of citrus, grapefruit, and resin. Taste is resin, caramel, some smoke. Thin body. Overly bitter finish.

330ml bottle at home. Clear amber brown with a full white soapy head. Light body with low to medium carbonation. Very nice bitterness with some sweet tones. Pine, caramel, malts, hops and spices. Didn’t quite expect so much taste in a 0,5% alc. brew, great low alcohol brew!

33cl bottle. Hazy reddish light brown colour with a small white head. Pine, fruit and floral aroma. Average carbonation and light to medium body. Taste is medium bitter with some light sweet notes. Overall, it is hard to believe there is almost no alcohol on it. I wish all non alcoholic beers were like this.
