COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
And this time it is all about the beer, and the beer is awesome! Gone are the 200+ IBUs which brought grown men to tears! Our new Nanny State is 0.5% ABV and focuses on being a great drink as opposed to a great publicity ploy. This beer is now focussed on getting all that is good about BrewDog into a practically alcohol free format. It is a West Coast inspired pale ale with a difference!

The beer has 45 IBUS and is brewed with centennial, amarillo, columbus, cascade and simcoe and intensively dry-hopped with centennial and amarillo. The backbone is provided by 8 different types of speciality malts with only 87 kilos of malt used in a 20HL batch (our Punk IPA uses 450 kilos in 20HL).

Deep brown amber with a thick creamy lasting, lacy beige head. Thick. The smell of BrewDog hops is clear right away with malt, caramel and citrus orange and peach. Soft carbonation on the medium thin body. Tastes a bit like pine, grass with caramel, some floral elements. A bit too plant like and watery but defiantly different without that much malt.

Flaska från SB. Mörkt bärnstensfärgad med vitt skum. Humlig doft med lite bröd och bränt socker. Lätt och torr med liten beska.

Light ruby colour, beige head. Aroma of hops, caramel. Taste is light bitter. Thin watery texture, light body, average to fizzy carbonation. Very good for a low alcohol beer.

Flaska systembolaget. Bärnstensfärgad åt det mörkare hållet med smutsvitt skum. Hulmefrisk doft som drar åt citrus och framförallt barr. Kavring. Smaken domineras av en kraftig beska men lite barr och citrus slår igenom.

0,33l bottle. 2015. Dark, amber, off-white head. Lovely fresh hoppy aroma. Might this be the first non-alcoholic beer that really kicks ass? The aroma alone is superb, or is it just that I’ve been drinking solely non-alcoholic beers so far in 2015? The taste is fresh, hoppy and slightly roasty. Astringent, but watery and slightly sweet to soften the IBUs. Pretty decent.

Clear orange-amber color with medium head, lots of small bubbles on the side of the glass. The fruit and resins of aroma hops are very present in the nose, but there’s already a lack of malt body and residual sweetness noticeable. Taste is pure hops, bitter, with a bitter finish and really no malt sweetness at all. Medium carbonation. A nice project for a hop juice :D This would pair up well with some Munster cheese, my dad claims.

Bottle from Tesco. Pours amber with a thin cream head. There’s a promising fruity hop aroma. The taste is bitter and fruity with notes of grapefruit. It’s massively lacking in body though. There’s a bit of a tinny finish too.

330ml bottle from a supremarket in Helsinki, clear chestnut brown colour, small mostly lasting frothy head, good lacing. Heavily hoppy aroma of citrus and hints of pine and flowers, plus a hint of malty caramel. Taste is intially fairly nonexistent, turning into a long moderately bitter finish with an astrigent feel. Light body, dry mouthfeel, lively carbonation. A bit off balance as there is a fair bit of hops without much malts to back them up, anyways the most interesting and second tastiest nonalcoholic beer I’ve had.

Bottle from Brewdog On the nose, Citrus, Grapefruit, not too dissimilair to a Punk IPA. Taste, well it lacks punch. I’m getting Citrus and Grapefruit from the hops, slight metallic, but it’s extremely thin. It’s better with alcohol.

Bottle @ home. Clear Dark Golden pour, minimal head. Very fruity nose. Taste is fruity at first, then a long very bitter finish. Notes of coffee or roasted malts.
