And this time it is all about the beer, and the beer is awesome! Gone are the 200+ IBUs which brought grown men to tears! Our new Nanny State is 0.5% ABV and focuses on being a great drink as opposed to a great publicity ploy. This beer is now focussed on getting all that is good about BrewDog into a practically alcohol free format. It is a West Coast inspired pale ale with a difference!

The beer has 45 IBUS and is brewed with centennial, amarillo, columbus, cascade and simcoe and intensively dry-hopped with centennial and amarillo. The backbone is provided by 8 different types of speciality malts with only 87 kilos of malt used in a 20HL batch (our Punk IPA uses 450 kilos in 20HL).

Deep brown amber with a thick creamy lasting, lacy beige head. Thick. The smell of BrewDog hops is clear right away with malt, caramel and citrus orange and peach. Soft carbonation on the medium thin body. Tastes a bit like pine, grass with caramel, some floral elements. A bit too plant like and watery but defiantly different without that much malt.

Aroma: intense floral hops, some straw, grain malts. Appearance: clear, dark brown, medium, creamy, off-white head. Taste: medium bitter. Palate: watery, floral hops, grapefruit, bitters continue and turn quite violent in the finish. Overall: I guess decent for a low alcohol beer, yet a touch too bitter given it’s also quite watery. Bottle from Tesco, Pimlico.

Chestnut coloured, clear, medium, slightly tanned and coarse head. Aroma: tropical fruits, fresh hops, a hint of caramel. Taste: Strong bitterness but watery at first. Then a bit malty. Bitter finish but thin body. Not as bitter as expected with 200+ IBU.

0.5%abv. Purchased in Tesco St.Enoch. Nice aroma; citrus and caramel. Appearance is dark amber, lack of head. Taste is fairly boring because of the 0.5%abv, very waterish. Thin carbonation, plain palate and abrupt finish.

To me this brew was like huge hops punch on water backbone. Unbalanced in terms of lack of sweetness, so hoppiness seems naked, grassy.

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2015 Appearance Pours a clear copper, with a thin white head, like when you pour a soda.
Aroma The aroma is that of an over-hopped IPA - grass and and citrus, no malt flavours are present.
Taste The taste is vile; no sweetness at all, just a harsh bitterness The taste is about as balanced as a psychotic schizophrenic on crack.
Palate The mouthfeel is thin, much like carbonated mineral water.
Overall Obviously, Brew Dog must have no idea how to brew beer, if they think they can counter less malt and a lower gravity by adding more hops.

Super Alkoholfreies! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nieporozumienie. Piwo prawie bezalkoholowe, które zachęca aromatem amerykańskich chmieli, o wiele lepszym, niż większość lagerów. Jednakże jest to zwodnicze, ponieważ w smaku jest kompletnie bezpłciowe, bezsmakowe i wybitnie wodniste. Najsłabszy projekt Brewdoga, jaki miałem przyjemność (tu czyt. nieprzyjemność pić). Klapa totalna. Omijać z daleka.

It’s a pretty decent low alcohol ale with a nice certain bitterness. However I truly miss the alcohol.
