And this time it is all about the beer, and the beer is awesome! Gone are the 200+ IBUs which brought grown men to tears! Our new Nanny State is 0.5% ABV and focuses on being a great drink as opposed to a great publicity ploy. This beer is now focussed on getting all that is good about BrewDog into a practically alcohol free format. It is a West Coast inspired pale ale with a difference!

The beer has 45 IBUS and is brewed with centennial, amarillo, columbus, cascade and simcoe and intensively dry-hopped with centennial and amarillo. The backbone is provided by 8 different types of speciality malts with only 87 kilos of malt used in a 20HL batch (our Punk IPA uses 450 kilos in 20HL).

Bottle 0,33 from System Bolaget. Dark amber, white laceing head. Nose is pretty non-existent (cold beer). Flavor is pretty mild too, not as hopped as expected. Pine needles, soap. Nothing to back the hops, some malty roastiness. Pretty refreshing, but not exactly a winner. Looks better than tastes.

Bottle - deep red with a light brown head which lasts a while before gradually fading to a ring. Weak lacing. Aroma is loads of orange, lemon and mango with complementary grass and a little coriander seed. Taste is faintly grassy, a little pine - light bitterness. Watery body and medium carbonation. A great smelling beer let down by its taste, which is similar to that of soda water.

Fantastic color and overall apperance for a non alcoholic beer. Fresh hoppy aroma full of citrus, grapefruit, and resin. Taste is resin, caramel, some smoke. Thin body. Overly bitter finish.

330ml bottle at home. Clear amber brown with a full white soapy head. Light body with low to medium carbonation. Very nice bitterness with some sweet tones. Pine, caramel, malts, hops and spices. Didn’t quite expect so much taste in a 0,5% alc. brew, great low alcohol brew!

33cl bottle. Hazy reddish light brown colour with a small white head. Pine, fruit and floral aroma. Average carbonation and light to medium body. Taste is medium bitter with some light sweet notes. Overall, it is hard to believe there is almost no alcohol on it. I wish all non alcoholic beers were like this.

Clear golden amber color, light lacey white head, hop nose like you’re smelling a bag of pellets before brewing, sort of tastes like that too, presumably because there’s not really any malt to back em up, crisp bitters, interesting beer, I actually tried brewing something like this a few years ago and was not as success though this has some of the same characteristics that I didn’t like ie very thin palate and hop bitters is like drinking cold carbonated hop tea.

Bottle from S-market. Pale with medium head. Fruity and floral aroma. Bitterness. Dry finnish. Can't believe there's no alcohol. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
